A new reason for me to be angry w/ the snow!!!!
soooooo, my best friend Mimi is prego and I've been planning her shower for MONTHS!! She was supposed to have a nursing conference for work tomorrow but because of the snow they postponed it til March 1st, which is the DATE of HER shower!!! I didn't even say anything, I was secretly going to call her job (crazy I know) and explain the situation and tell them to tell her she didn't have to go lol....BUT her hubby blew the cover and told her she could NOT go to the conference and basically she got his jist........DAMN IT!!! for anyone who's ever planned a shower, you know how frustrating it is when the surprise is blown.....ah well, what can we do!! damn it mother nature!!!   at least now we don't have to figure out how to get her there!! lol
I just had to add, it also stinks since her surprise was ruined for her bridal shower too!! but I stilll have some surprises in store for her AT the shower, so I can live with that!!

awww thanks!! yea we've been friends for over 20 years, so it was me & her mamacita planning the shower, after her hubby dropped the bomb she called her mom and said "ma, is there a reason I should NOT go to this conference on March 1st"  she of course said yes. the worst part is, I'm going to Florida the following weekend, so she was convinced I was faking her out and that was the REAL weekend of her shower. this S U C K S!!

That stinks but it couldn't be helped. She will still be surprised when she sees who is there and all the work you and her mom put in to the shower.

thanks!! I just had to vent since DH is sawing lumber on the couch right now  and even if he was awake, could give a flying leap to hear about showers anymore

That stinks so much!!!
But, at least the shower wasn't planned for tomorrow, so eventhough she knows about it, there shouldn't be too many transportation issues for the guests

good point!! I didn't even think of that!! we would've been way under the minimum probably if it were tomorrow! thanks!! you just helped me feel better!

Awww Helen that stinks! Sorry it won't be a surprise anymore ... might be better of not surprising a mommy-to-be anyway ....
I am sure Mimi appreciates everything you are doing for her, and it will be a fantastic shower even if she knows all about it!!!!!!!

hahaha!!! yea it doesn't really matter now, she could possibly think we're faking her out still, but we'd be going to alot of trouble if we're involving her job lol.....I didn't want to post on LIW b/c I think she's lurking more on there than here.

that really stinks!! although i totally agree that when mimi (hi mimi!!) sees what you have done for her she's still going to be surprised and touched. i knew all about my bridal shower (when and where) but when i walked into the room and saw all the people there and the gifts and how it was decorated, i still cried!!
still, sorry she found out - i know it stinks.
