Anyone Dislike Atlanta?
I am here on business and not loving it. I was in Chicago a few weeks ago and I loved it. I am a NYC girl thru & thru, but I would consider moving to Chicago....but NOT Atlanta

Yeah, it was actually my least favorite place I ever visited. Strange city...Very racially segregated I thought, and the streets REALLY clear out at night. Very strange religious presence too--I remember there being churches on every city block and people screaming about God and preaching on every corner. Like night and day compared to NYC...
The highlight of the trip was Chick Fil A!

Atlanta is cool for the weekend but I'm not sure about weeknight events. I've been there for a few events (work & weddings). We always ended up at a party downtown or going to Buckhead to shop.

Actually, I loved it when I went there!! I found the suburbs to be very similar to Long Island but with warmer weather. That was the best of both worlds to me!

I've been to Atlanta 3 times in the last year for business and HATED it every time. My cousin lives there and I don't understand how she left Southeast Florida for that, but to each their own.
I felt like it was a fast food city! I couldn't find anything that wasn't a chain restaurant, and it is too segregated.
Not a fan.

We actually considered moving down there and checked out the Inman Park, Virginia Highlands, Candler Park and Five Points area and we really liked it. We researched and found some good restaurants to eat at and found some cool shops, etc.
What really made the decision for me what the humidity-- I COULD NOT live in a place that made my hair look like that!!

All I remember about Atlanta was that I was there last year for a wedding with horrific morning sickness. I made DH go out and find Chipotle because I was craving a burrito, and the poor man drove and drove til he found one and brought it back to me. It stayed down too. So I have good memories of Atlanta!

Hey, stop knocking my area!
Obviously I love Atlanta and the downtown area at night in the winter is not HOT! Got to Buckhead, Virginia Highlands, east ATL, Little 5 points, get out to the suburbs or even head up to midtown. The restaurants in ATL are pretty awesome. I am a LI girl at heart and yes it took me a bit to get used to the change but never compare any city to NYC. There is nothing the same or even close to it in my opinion. What I love about it is the great places to venture to and how clean it is. It's like a huge village to me. But seriously there are some great places to venture out to. Do a search, ask around. You're here in the dead of winter, not much happening now. Come back in the next couple of months and it's a completely different scene.

I've been to Atlanta several times on business and really liked it. The people I met were all warm and friendly and the restaurants were really good. I LOVED going to Buckhead. All in all, good memories.

I was in Atlanta for business too (for the Super Show every February)...all I remember were great restaurants & friendly people. Yet I do remember the streets being deserted at night..(again though it was winter).

I loooooooooooooove ATL
Even though i live outside ATL, I love working in Atl and shopping in buckhead.. I was born and raised in NY but I love living down here in GA, People are so family oriented, and yes there is a church in every corner because church is a big thing here where even chick fil a is closed on a sunday
