Need tax help! I'm doing our own again!

I've already finished everything except I'm having a difficult time with the part that I have to put the info in from a 1099-Miscellaneous form. I'm using TurboTax online. It asks if you have a 1099-Misc., I say yes, put the real quick general info in and then it starts asking questions about Section C, business info, etc. I am at a lost because all I did was work as an contractor for 6 months for only about $3,000+ dollars. (It was PT work). I was an Admin Assistant for a Music School. I don't know how to answer the questions. They want business name, materials question, a cash, accrual, and something else question... I am just clueless!!! I don't want to fill it in wrong but I really don't know what to do? I do our own taxes every year, and I never had this problem with a 1099 before. I read the instructions, or at least tried to, they're so confusing. Is there anyone out there that can help me get through this part? TIA!

when you look at your 1099, what box is your income in? I'm guessing it's in the "non-employee" compensation box, which is what is triggering the Schedule C questions.

Your business name can just be your name and you are on the cash basis. You can write off any expenses related to that income, but make sure you have proof, because Schedule C is a hot audit item if your expenses seem out of line.
