Ever tried to get on a game show? I need $$

I'm thinking about sending in an application to Deal or No Deal......Doesn't it seem so easy when you're watching at home? LOL

Anyone ever apply? I'm probably not "bubbly" enough to get on, but I figure it's worth a shot!

There is a new game show on Channel 9 called Temptation. (It's the new version of the old show Sale of the Century).
I always say I want to go on there- it seems really easy and they give away some kick azz prizes- fun things that I would love like iphones, flat screen tvs, designer purses....

But it's in California and I dont' see myself getting there anytime soon!

i havent i wish i was though - $ would be great..my friend was just on jeapardy and did pretty well! (i know i couldnt be on that one and walk away with lots of $ lol)

i've heard people getting screwed with game shows though---they kill you on taxes. be careful!

I thought about Deal or No Deal when it came out. I think you have to be totally out of whack and loopy to be a contestant.
But if you throw $1M at me, I will act however you want

For DOND, I think you have to send a 30 min video of yourself. That was what stopped me

I auditioned for Rock & Roll Jeopardy- remember that show on VH1? I would kick azzzz watching the show. But the first round of auditions I bombed. They asked the most obscure questions to whittle down the huge crowd. I was soooooo

I have not, but my dad, brothers and cousin apparently once tried out for Family Feud.

OMG, to have bee a fly on the wall during THAT audition!

They caught on real fast that they weren't "energetic" enough and started to cheer wildly while playing.

My brother was on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire College week (with Meredith Viera). He auditioned at college (Queens College). He and another girl made it. The show flew him to Disney, put him up in a nice Disney hotel for a week with the other contestants, and they went free to all the parks.

He had to wear Queens College garb, which he was not fond of to say the least. But they filmed them going on the rides and acting all sorts of corny in the park. Of course the whole thing was so scripted but made to look "real". They aired these clips before and after commercial breaks.

Myself and my DH were 2 of my brother's "phone a friend" (s). THANK GOD he never called us!

He wound up winning $16,000. He lost on a question about Pablo Neruda. No clue!

He wound up with about $12,000 which he used to purchase a car. Not too shabby. Free trip, free money.

And the best perk is that we taped it and tease him with the footage every chance we get. It's the gift that keeps on giving!

My mom was on Sale of the Century in 1969, she won a washer and dryer, a ride on lawn mower and I think a trip to Barbados.

She looked hot too.

My friend went to Jeopardy tryouts a long time ago. I know she had to go to Atlantic City but I think that was after some sort of tryout in NYC. I am surprised she didn't make it as she is highly intelligent. She was a lawyer for over 10 years and she is now doing her rotations as a medical student. I'm not saying that proves she is smart, but I like to brag about her because I think she is smart!

My sister's MIL was on Jeopardy twice. I have known the lady for 20+ years and I just found that out about 2 years ago.

I think it could be time consuming to try out for a game show and do the taping if you get on but go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would LOVE to be on Wheel Of Fortune.
My brother is in the process of filling out the LONG application for Deal or No Deal. He now has to make the tape as well, but, is hesitating.
I do hope he goes through with it, but, I don't think it will be anytime soon.

I tried out for Jeopardy YEARS ago. The tryouts are so so much harder than the actual show - I guess to to get rid of everyone!
