Prison slang

I need some real nitty gritty prison slang knowledge.

DH learned on the train the other day (by eavesdropping a VERY loud conversation that he was gracious enough to record with his cell phone Chat Icon ), that if you don't put money in the commisary, you become pork and beans.

I need more gems like this.

Anyone?

CAT HEAD: On some units housing older convicts biscuits or rolls are often called cat heads, the origin of this word is not known, but it is believed that they were referring to the fact that a cat’s head is very hard, as are the rolls.

My clients tell me they were "away," or "in the joint," or sometimes they just say "upstate," or "at Riverhead."
