Once again
a LIRR vent about the same crap.
IPODS, now I own one..I make sure it's at a reasonable volume. Missy winter white coat and coach bag is deaf.
A row behind me. She likes Bon Jovi. So do I when I'm listening to it in my own earphones or in my car or in my house.
It didn't sound so good through your earbuds.
Was I wrong for turning around and telling I like Bon Jovi too?

LOL I was just talking about this to someone in my office.
I turn up my music so I can’t hear my neighbors unless I try to and you STILL can’t here my music when I take them off.
Why in god’s name does it ever have to be so loud that its bleeding through like that?
I actually had to put my ipod on to AVOID someone else’s. I was napping and all of a sudden I hear Jazz. Loud, sad jazz. I wanna sleep Mister!!!
I wonder if they realize they are going deaf.

Yesterday, I was sitting next to some dork who was listening to TKA and Sweet Sensation on HIS Ipod!!!!

We need a whole LIRR Vent thread
1. Express Train in the morning = napping. Not talking so loud in the vestibules that everyone hears you, not playing spades and joking around annoying us all, not calling into the office and having a half hour conversation.
2. Seat courtesy. Yeah I’m by the window cuz I’m the last stop going eastbound. So happy you took the outside seat and yep, we have a porker, snoring dude in between us, but can you stop admiring your nails and talking on your cell phone, get UP and move when literally HALF the train is empty minus our crammed little row???? The snoring pig moved as soon as you did, too bad you waited until the second to last stop!!!
3. Boarding the train. Did you know the LIRR installed these fancy color coded LED signs right by each train on the track???? Great, do me a favor READ IT! Don’t run onto my train and ask “Is this the Huntington line?” Did it say it was?
4. No smoking means no smoking. Is that really that hard to figure out? It doesn’t mean wait until Jamaica, Westbury, Hicksville, etc to stop and pull a few drags in the vestibule (I saw four cops doing this, so of course after they got off, others did it too.)
5. Don’t touch me. Thank you. I know the last stop is mine, they ring the little bell a billion times before the stop and at the stop. I don’t like standing around and waiting around in some sort of desperate rush to get off the train. I just wanna keep napping. Don’t reach out and touch me to say “We’re in Huntington” really? Thanks for the FYI, then Don’t touch me again and say the same thing! I’m not deaf and yeah, I speak English, leave me alone!

6. Dear LIRR, save money, stop using the A/C in the winter!! It’s 20 degrees outside, why is it warmer OUTSIDE than inside? I hate arriving at my station and my nose is so cold it hurts to touch it.
7. Dear LIRR, stop frying me as well. One winter I got on the train FINALLY warm when I napped I leaned my calf against the wall. I woke up biting off a scream as your heater burned through my pants and socks in a quick second!!! Luckily no skin damage.
8. Dear LIRR Collector, if you hate your job, change it. Why do you need to be a prick to me? There is no reason to require me every single morning to pull out my pass. Worse, you said it was once a week. Totally BS since I can almost go a whole month with no one punching it. You have this punch card mania. And why be such a prick when asking for it as if we should know better. Get over it, I wanna go back to sleep.
9. Dear LIRR Brakeman, Seriously guy figure out which line you’re on and stop using it as a free for all conversation piece. Again, I’m napping here.
10. Dear LIRR Engineer/Conductor, really don’t need minute by minute updates of the train, its functions and status of other stations. If I’m not running late or if my train isn’t being diverted, cancelled, stopped, derailed, I don’t need to hear about it. I ESPECIALLY don’t need the gossip of who got hit by what train and if their dead. I don’t believe you’re even allowed to say that stuff.
11. Watch your popcorn, I came home and had grease stains on my pants become some big mama munching on her popcorn kept dropping it on me. First few times I quietly swiped it off. After that I glared and heavily sighed and all you said was “oops” and laugh, didn’t even say sorry and still dropped some, SMILING each time you did.
12. OLD PEOPLE, KIDS pick a f-ing ringtone and live with it. There’s no reason to go through every single ringtone MORE than once playing each one to see which one works. Who CARES??? Pick one and shut up. You’re going home anyway, fix it there!
13. Mothers/Kids Did you know your game has a silent mode? USE IT!
14. All Cell Phone users, consider your audience. (US) Do you really want us to know about that ‘growth’ and the ‘pain’ or how your wife’s pregnancy is going and if you want a C-section or not or how much your child is a brat or if you are going to divorce your wife when speaking to your mistress (I was glued to that one I admit-ba$tard) or any of your private info??? I don’t care what you’re having for dinner so stop and think. Have I said what was needed? Great, hang up.
15. 99 bottles of beer on the floor 99 bottles of beer, one goes down and splashes around 99 bottles of beer on the floor. Nothing like walking on sticky floors and having beer bottles hit your feet. Same goes for coffee.

i agree with all the above.
one of my pet peeves on the train are the cliques that have to sit together every morning and squeeze into seats near eachother and talk over the people they are sitting next too. if they try to sqeeze where i sit i just get up i cant stand them!!!!!!!!!!
they are my reason for turning up my ipod!!!!!!

I had my tote bag on the floor yesterday am and someone decided they didn't want their coffee anymore. It ended up spilling all over the floor and onto my tote bag.
i had boy genius next to me typing away on his laptop and using my hip bone as a resting place for his elbow. I can't even feel my hip bones...you dug so far down, you hit it.
Cell phone talker, this is really important..the Giants vs the Patriots..who are you talking to at 7:30am about this? It's now 8am and you are still talking about this...who cares?

totally right i always take my headphones off to see how loud they are i if i dont hear anything out of them i think im fine. but my husband said he can hear the music when i have them on.
