Poll: What does your desktop look like?
My colleague has hundreds of icons/documents on his desktop...when he looked at my PC, he stated that I was a minimalist b/c I have the standard icons on my desktop (I like to keep it clean.)

Me too. I have 9 icons - in one row - to the left of my screen. I use the shortcut toolbar a lot too. I hate a screen full of icons - even some of you who say you're minimalists WAY too many icons for me.

mine usually looks like this too.
part of my new years resolution was to get more organized and so far i'm sticking to it--- now I probably have about 10 folders that everything gets moved into on my desktop, plus everyday applications.

I should also add that I need there to be an even number. If there is one extra that makes a new row I have to get rid of it.
I'm a folder junkie. I make folders for EVERYTHING!!

i like to create folders with themes "media" "system backup" "games" "wedding" to keep it clean. the programs that i use all the time are on there as well. i love my neat little screen!

I don't bother with icons on my desktop. I can never see them anyway. At work, I usually have 20-30 windows open (21 as I'm typing, but that's because I'm not doing a whole lot right now). I can never get to my desktop, so why bother having icons there? I have 3 monitors attached to my work PC, and I still can't see my desktop on any of them. I need more monitors!
Most of the icons I do have are put there automatically by IT, so I have no choice. Otherwise, I'd probably delete them.
