Please help me decide....with poll!
Here in Atlanta there are many affordable living options which is great...however I can't decide what's best for me.
1. A larger 900 sq. foot apt, in Buckhead in a very exclusive type area right by the mall. Nothing to walk to, must drive. But really nice area and nice neighborhood around the corner.
2. A smaller 750 sq. foot apt...not as nice as the above and smaller feeling...in virginia highlands, midtown. Walking distance to town and to Piedmont park where I can run. Also in a neighborhood so can run and walk around.
3. Highrise apt on 17th floor, 700 sq feet, in heart of midtown, urban feel. Building feels like a resort... has everything, big gym, track, basketball, tennis, raquetball, sauna, tanning, etc...can run to park about a mile or so away but in a busy, NYC type area.

I've been to Atlanta and Buckhead was definitely my favorite area, so I vote for that.
I stayed in a hotel in midtown while at a conference, and found that the streets really emptied out and were kind of scary at night. I'd feel safer in Buckhead.

I know what you are talking about! It is very quiet at night and on the weekends, however they make the high rise building so you never have to leave!

I vote for buckhead too! There is a seasons 52 there and hubby and his co-workers talk about how nice it is.

I vote Buckhead - love that area!! But I'm not familiar with the Virginia Highlands area. That one sounds nice too.

Exactly what I was going to say. I miss being in a more walkable area. Actually, I think I'd prefer 2 over 3.

I live in ATL. I would live in the Highlands. I love that area! Buckhead has changed a lot in the past few years - even more so recently. The heart of buckhead has been shut down, all the bars/shops, etc. are being torn down, and they are planning on a new upscale area - Atlanta's version of Miracle Mile or Rodeo drive - but it won't be ready for a few more years. Downtown is growing too, and becoming more work, live, play. But I would still pick the highlands!
