DH, time off after the baby?

Is your DH taking time off from work after DC is born?

With my DS, I think DH took off two weeks. With our expected DD, I'm not sure how much time he is going to take off.

Re: DH, time off after the baby?

DH will take off 1 week after the baby. And about a month after DC is born he will take another week.

Re: DH, time off after the baby?

DH gets 1 paid week paternity leave

He will take that when I come home from the hospital

He will prob take an extra 2 days or so. Then a day here and there while Im on maternity leave. He gets 2 weekdays off a month (because he works some Saturdays)

DH will take off 2-3 weeks. Most likely 2 weeks when the baby is first born and then another week about a month later.

Re: DH, time off after the baby?

My DH will take a week after baby comes. His schedule rotates though so he may be home a lot more during the week while I'm on leave, and family (my mom) can help out during weekends if I need it.

He gets 4 wks - so 1 when I first come home, 1 in the summer when DC is baptized, 1 in September when I first go back to work FT and 1 in November when his parents have a timeshare so we can have a family vacation.

Nope. I didn't need him home. I was just fine without him. And he had a lot of work to do. My Mom or other people were over almost everyday so I didn't need the help. Andrew just slept anyway so both of us in the house would be nutsChat Icon Chat Icon

My husband did something similar. He took off one week right after the baby was born, and then he took another weeks worth of days spread out. He took the days off when we needed to take the baby to the doctor.

My DH is taking off 2 weeks. He can take up to a month, but i don't want him to. My aunt will be here from England to help out and i'd rather he use his time for when we really need it... say when i go back to work in the beginning. Chat Icon

Re: DH, time off after the baby?

My Dh is taking a week off when I give birth. He doesn't really have any time, but his boss said he can make it up as he goes.

Re: DH, time off after the baby?

DH will probably take 1-2 weeks initially and then is going to take another the week when I go back to work to ease my transition.

Probably just a week. I don't really want him to take any longer than that because it's his busy season and could be making $$$$. If I decide to stay home for 12 weeks we'll need it...lol.

Re: DH, time off after the baby?

For now the plan is for him to take off one week right after the baby is born. He'll take another 2-3 weeks when I go back to work before we have to put DS in day care.

The fist time DH took off 2 weeks. This time I think he can take off 1 week and work for home part of another.

DH will take a week off when she's born. Hopefully I'll go home from the hospital on a Friday so I can have him with me for longer..
