Question About Cycle

Maybe a stupid question but i am confused. I plan on TTC in the next few months, so i decided to go on my monthleycycle.com to track my cycle. It asks me how many day cycle do i have but some months its 26-27days and some months 28 or 30 so how do i really know when i am ovulating?

Re: Question About Cycle

The only way you'd really know for sure is either by using an ovulation predictor test or by taking your temperature every morning (after you ovulate the progesterone your body produces causes your resting body temperature to rise).

Either way, try to get a hold of a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Wechsler - it explains what's going on in your body in details.

Good luck.

Re: Question About Cycle

No problem. It's truly a bizarre thing, this whole menstrual cycle! Chat Icon But after reading the book, it all makes a lot of sense - and I get so excited and even, strangely *proud* (Chat Icon ) when my body does what the book says it should when it should. I know that must make me sound crazy! Chat Icon

I'm temping because, although it's a bit of a pain to have to take my temperature every morning, it makes more sense to me than using an ovulation predictor kit. It's also a lot cheaper! But the downside is it doesn' tell you when you've ovulated until after you have (there are other indicators when you approach O that together with temping give you a good idea when it's going to happen, but the temping does confirm that it has happened).

It doesn't make you sound crazy! I get what you mean.

Yes the ovulation predictor are so expensive. I'm excited to learn from the book. Have you been TTC for a while?

I am so excited to start, but we are going to wait a couple more months but i want to know everything i need to before hand.
