We have a crib -- finally!!!
Some months ago -- when I was very pregnant -- I posted a vent about how my husband's need to DIY meant that my baby may never have a crib.
Well, William Arden is 3 months now and he does in fact have a crib! And just in time -- he was kicking so hard in his bassinet I thought he might tip it over.
Not only do we have a crib and changing table, both hand-made by Daddy, but we also have a dresser, hand-made by Grandpa (the big one next to the crib). And Grandma knit a fantastically beautiful blanket.
My DH's family is so crafty that I had to get in on it and make some stuff too. I did 3 paintings of Will's favorite stuffed animals (sort of parodies of famous paintings) and my Mom painted wooden letters of the baby's name. The art has yet to get up on the walls, but I am so happy about the crib that I just had to share pictures of the new nursery.
The baby's been sleeping in his new room for almost a week and seems to love it!
(But for anyone out there who might think this is a good idea, I'll answer the most obvious questions -- it took months to get these pieces and between the wood, hardware, and tools, they were WAY more expensive than anything we could have purchased. It was just something that was important to DH and his family.)

My father was a master carpenter so I can truly appreciate your DH's work... absolutely beautiful.
And sadly, I can relate about the  for the wood and time. He once made my cousin an oak wall unit (18 years ago) and the wood alone was $800... almost 20 years ago
And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the artwork.
So creative. Your son has a one of a kind nursery
