IBS and ttc
does anyone else have IBS and ttc? I am asking because I was wondering if a flare up would interfere with the ttc process. Thank you.

Re: IBS and ttc
No problems while pregnant. But after I gave birth, I had a lot of problems with it. I guess it all depends on the hormone levels.

Re: IBS and ttc
I have pretty bad IBS and it did not interfere with TTC. Like the previous poster said, it has gotten soooo much better since being pregnant. Good luck!

Re: IBS and ttc
I have a friend with IBS and 2 lovely children.... While I don't know the details of her TTC experience, I don't believe she had a lot of difficulty.....

Re: IBS and ttc
I have mod to severe IBS and I've seen no real issues. but I am not trying to plan/test etc. Just BD. Since I wouldnt wanna BD after an 'episode' i guess that may mess with the TTC process.
My biggest concern was the medication I take to control the cramps, pain, 'episodes' severity and etc. Its a muscle relaxant and anti-anxity mix. Doc says I shouldnt need to worry.
Sorry can't be more helpful but I wouldn't mind keeping in touch on this subject.

Re: IBS and ttc
BTW I have cleaned my system out prior to TTC for nearly a year. Last Feb I quit soda and starting drinking more water (which I never did before).
Better veggies, more OJ, less high fats (Fried etc) and its actually helped my IBS

Re: IBS and ttc
thank you ladies. this made me feel better. Especially the part about it improving during pregnancy. I have noticed that my symptoms get worse around AF time. I never realized hormones affected IBS. Xelindra you bring up a good point about diet. I think I am going to try to make some improvements.

Re: IBS and ttc
I don't think there is any way it can affect TTC except that you may not feel up to BD.
I have found that taking metformin has made it worse though, which really stinks. But most people don't have this issue.
