anaesthesia and TTC...
I need minor oral surgery I told the surgeon that I'm TTC, and he said local anaethetic is gentle and likely wouldn't do anything to a baby if I was BFP+ and didn't know it. He didn't seem very phased by me TTC and getting the procedure with a local.
well, needless to say, 'likely' is one term I don't like... I decided I'll schedule the procedure while I'm waiting to O... so I KNOW I'm not prego.... (if I miraculously get a BFP before the surgery, I'll postpone it...)
here's my question: everyone knows the problems of meds/drugs while pregnant.... what about drugs during folicle maturation and O'ing? If I get the procedure done during the first 2 weeks of my cycle, should we NOT TTC that month? the procedure is less invasive than pulling a wisdom tooth, so I don't think I'll have to take codine or any pain killers afterwards.... at worst, I'll have to take a course of antibiotics... thanks for your help!
(notice it's a TOOTHY grin )

Re: anaesthesia and TTC...
you are FINE. have the surgery.
i had MAJOR surgery and was completely knocked out for it and was pregnant but didn't know it. neither my surgeon nor my obgyn is concerned with it. i was also on major codeine for several days afterward which they also said was fine since it was so early (i was about 5DPO so it didn't show up in the 2 blood tests i had)
have the surgery now before you know you're pregnant. once you find out you probably won't do it and your problem could get much worse before the baby is born in 9 months
feel free to FM me if you want, but i had 2 doctors tell me it was of no concern since it was so early.

Re: anaesthesia and TTC...
thanks. that's really good to know.
The minor surgery is cosmetic (getting a dental implant), so it's not like I have to choose a healthy mouth or a healthy TTC month.
I just didn't want to schedule anything until I heard other's experiences....

Re: anaesthesia and TTC...
you will be okay scheduling surgery. The baby does not share your blood until something like 6 or 7 weeks.
