Problems with OPKs???
Am I the only moron who has trouble with these? Its seems as though I never get a "positive" on the OPK's. The test line gets darker and darker, but never darker or equal to the control line. The the test line disappears all together before getting a a positive. I test at the same time every day. Help?? This happened last month as welll!!

Re: Problems with OPKs???
I don't know the right answer, but I've used the clearblue regular ones and the digtial ones and never had a problem with them at all, the lines were clearly darker than the test line...maybe try clearblue.... Sorry for not being able to answer ur question a little better

I know they're expensive, but why not try the digital. Then there is no guessing!

Re: Problems with OPKs???
This could be a symptom of PCOS-OPK's measure LH-if your LF does not get high enough your test will not ever turn positive. Have you had CD 3 testing? Or a sono or glucose tolerance test to rule out PCOS

No. It's only my second month using OPK's and I doubt very much I have PCOS. My periods are very regular and I have no other symptoms of PCOS. I just bought the Clear Blue Digital and will try it tonight and next month if necessary! Thanks for the advice!

Re: Problems with OPKs???
I use Answer OPK (the dipping stick with 20 tests). This is the first month I've tried it and I know exactly what you mean. It's not an easy read. I usually only get a control line (nothing at all in the test line) but for three days last weekend I got lines in the test and control line that looked similar (not exact and the test line was not darker). I can't confirm that I had a surge/O'd or not. We BD those three days.
If need be I will probably splurge and buy the Clear Blue test next month.

Re: Problems with OPKs???
I had trouble reading the answer ones myself. I kept doubting my self as to whether the line was darker or not.
I bought the Clearblue Digital ones and there was no question this month. I found them the cheapest at Target.com. I got free shipping and found an online code for 20% off.

You too! Have you ever visited pee on a stick.com?? I know, nice name. Here is a link that sort of helped me understand the "dip stick" OPK a little better. Not much, but a little HTH and good luck Pee On A Stick

Re: Problems with OPKs???
I've used both the Answer mid-stream and dipping-stick kind.
To be honest, I've never really had too much of a problem with either though I thought the dip sticks came up darker.
Generally speaking, I would say you're better off with the Clear Blue Easy digital ones. With them, there's NO guess work, what so ever.
Hang in there and GOOD LUCK!!!

Re: Problems with OPKs???
If you are willing to try charting you can see if you ovulated by a temp. shift. It is not a way to predict ovulation but at least you can see if you are or not!

FYI-If one part of the test is as dark or darker than the control line then you are close to O. The dye isn't always applied with so much care I think. You'd think for the prices these things would be crystal clear!
