I gave DS a banana (comfort food) and a hard boiled egg(new but, have tried in the past) and he ate the banana and threw the egg and that was at 9:15. I didn't give him anything else not even juice and he at lunch at 2:30 and is on his 3rd chicken nugget and he ate 3/4's of mozzeralla string cheese stick
I wish I used this technique on Joseph when he was younger. I did use it on Maddie (who is a good eater).
Now that he's older, I used the same principle for Joseph's school lunches. If he doesn't eat his sandwich, the next day he doesn't get snack. When I picked him up, I asked how school was. He answered "It was ok but I didn't eat my sandwich. I think you're going to have to starve me again tomorrow."
