Spinoff to Puffs Question....

My DS is 7 1/2 months old. I just tried to give him a Gerber Puffs thing (banana flavored) for the first time this weekend. He gagged and shivered like it was the worst thing ever. Anybody have any ideas how to get him to accept them? Or did anyone else's DC do this same thing at first? TIA for any help here. I am anxious for him to eat something like that to occupy him at our dinner time............ TIA!

Re: Spinoff to Puffs Question....

I tried first by breaking them in half for a few weeks and then we moved on to whole ones. We als did the same with cheerioes, halves first then whole ones in a few weeks. How about trying a bitter biscuit, they are really messy but, a great time consuming snack. The last thin I can recommend is the gerber dried apples snack in a bag, they are really small pieces and dissolve in the babys mouth. Good luck!!

I also broke them up into halves at first, and she had no problem with them.

Re: Spinoff to Puffs Question....

Also had to break them in halves....he even had a problem with that in the beginning and I had to moisten them a little to get him started. Once I did that, he picked it up really quick and a day later was eating them whole after having been choking on them.

Brake them in half, I had to do the same for Julia when she first started eating them, I gave her a whole one once and she gagged.
