are they all about the same in quality? I see some for about $60 online.
Is the quality of some better then others.
are they expensive to install?

Re: Remote Starters ( for Cars)
I had mine installed about 3 years ago at Circuit city and it is great...still works and no problems. I Bought DH one last year from Circuit city as well and it is fine too. Most places have alifetime warranty. I highly recommend getting one, especially in the winter..they are great!!!

Re: Remote Starters ( for Cars)
They are not all the same. Some have disconnects when you open the hood of the car, trunk release options and many other features that are great. DH bought me my first one as a gift and when we went to install it, our friend said he had much better for cheaper. I'd let the dealer show you.

Re: Remote Starters ( for Cars)
There are many different types. I bought DH one for fathers day/anniversary and there were a few to choose from.

Re: Remote Starters ( for Cars)
I've been wanting a remote starter for years and still dont have one!! I think I'm just gonna have to go out and buy one instead of asking for it as a gift.

Re: Remote Starters ( for Cars)
You should be able to get one at a place like Parkway Car Stereo for about $100 installed. We paid that for my mom's two years ago, so I can't imagine they have gone up since then. It's a Godsend...in the winter, there is nothing better than having the car a little warmed up before you get in.

be careful if you have a warranty on your car it will void it

That's actually not true...it's a vicious rumor. I called the dealer when I bought my car and they said absolutely not. The only thing that would void a warranty is making mechanical changes such as tranny alterations or engine modifications.

Re: Remote Starters ( for Cars)
My remote starter on the truck is just a remote starter, nothing fancy. The car has a two-way receiver, so I can see "exhaust" coming from the car on the remote's screen when it is running. It has cut-off switches under the hood, and a pretty long range. I can also open and close the windows with the remote. There is a difference, but if you just want to start the car in the driveway, they all do that.

Re: Remote Starters ( for Cars)
DH bought me one last year for Christmas. We went to the place in Hicksville (I think!) on Old Country Rd between Jerusalem Ave and 106. It was a remote starter and key less entry.
