Has anyone had a house sale fall through?
Our offer was just accepted this morning, but now I'm petrified that the sale will fall through.
I'm wondering what % of sales don't make it to completion. Someone please tell me I'm overreacting!

We never had a sale fall through but we got our house b/c the other accepted offer pulled out.

We got into a bidding war after our bid was accepted. We kept bidding higher than the other people, and finally the owner said it didn't matter how much we offered, she wanted to sell to the other people.   And she used us to get them to pay more!
This probably doesn't happen that often though, so try not to worry. Good luck!

We made sure to get the inspector in right away, 48 hours after offer was accepted, limited what we negotiated into the contract as far as inspector's findings, and got to our attorney's office the day the contracts did to sign and send them back.
We were nervous thast another offer would come in and beat ours because we bid 20K below asking and it's appraisal was 30K over what we paid. We kinda lucked into timing because the seller was away all weekend and the only realtor with a key was out in Riverhead all weekend so we were the only people to see it after it had gone back on the market after a sale fell through. We made our offer that night (Sunday) and we signed the contracts by Thursday or Friday.
Just make sure you move as quick as you can through the process until they sign the contracts.

We had the original buyers of our condo bail out. They couldn't get a mortgage and wanted us to lower the price.

We bailed on 3 houses, its normal and usually for the best. Beleive it or not
