Need some help determining CM
I found this website that offers pictures (as well as descriptions) on CM. It says that dry/damp like CM will occur prior to ovulation, then creamy/milky right before ovulation, EWCM right around/during ovulation, and then milky after ovulation. Is this correct? Is there an easier way to remember/detect this patter of CM? It just feels like so much to remember.
Also, are there any tricks to distinguishing between Cm? I feel like I NEVER know what type it is!!

I really only pay attention to the EWCM (egg white CM). This usually starts about 3-4 days prior to O for me. When I see EWCM, I know its time to BD

I went out today and bought a basal thermometer and registered on fertilityfriend.com. I'm hoping that once I get myself organized, I will feel more confident about TTC.

Some women never get it. I know I didnt always get it. I just gave up trying to figure it out. Only my last two cycles I actually noticed EWCM.

Sure thing. I know a few women who never get EWCM.
I know I am ovulating because I use OPKs. I am also an IUI patient so I get midcycle sonograms to measure the size of my follicles. After each IUI I have another sonogram is done and they can see if and/or when a follicle has released and that shows if I have or have not ovulated. I also temp and chart as per the instructions of my RE. THAT I actually hate doing despite the fact that has been helpful to me and my RE.
I have only noticed EWCM on particular days when I had IUIs. Afterwards, when ovulation was confirmed through sonogram, it showed that the three things, OPKS, temping/charting and EWCM were consistent. Everyone is different.
Note that I do not have medicated IUIs. I also do not get trigger shots. I do not have PCOS. My reasons for IUIs are due to cervical stenosis which was a result of scar tissue on my cervix from a cone biopsy/laser procedure from years back. If a person has PCOS, then ovulation would be a completely different story.

thank you this website was very helpful. I am still not sure when I'm ovulating. I feel like there is so much to learn. Maybe I should have paid more attention in health class.

I aso have a hard time identifying which CM is which, so I'm using OPKs and temping to tell when I ovulate.

Those pics are also published in the book Taking Charge of your Fertility. I definitely recommend the book. Very helpful in understanding your body and the changes that happen over the course of your cycle.

This is true you will see it more after you go #2. I would not worry about any other kind of CM except EWCM. The others are very ambiguous and change from person to person. Consistently I have EWCM 2-3 days before I ovulate. That is when I start using OPK's
