my babysitter just quit- NOW WHAT????

Its sunday night at 10pm and my babysitter just quit. thankfully my mom is off for veterans day tomorrow, but *** am i going to do??? ill be working all day how am i going to interview daycare centers? my son is three and a half months old what am i going to do??? help???!!!

Are you kidding me? She quit at 10pm the night before she was supposed to work? Well, thank goodness she quit if she's that selfish and unprofessional. I know it's a burden right now, but it's probably a blessing in disguise. Can you take a few personal days to figure it out? Does your job offer emergency childcare? We found out that my husband's job offers this to all employees. I hope something works out

try Craig's list!!! A lot of parents post ads for their babysitters when their kids start school!

A mom in my moms group found her babysitter on sittercity.com - she raves about her.

Its a very long story and actually, as terrible as i feel right now, i feel bad for her. She just left her husband (today) and moved in with her parents. I have known this family FOREVER. Her dad has a bad history that i know of, and i feel uncomfortable leaving my children there, so i questioned it and tried to have an open dicussion about it with her and explained my concern and told her i would give it a try, she agreed, and then called me back shortly after and said her parents heard the entire conversation and how dare i question them and my children can not go there b/c its too much of a liability. And that her mom cant believe i would think so little of them. The whole thing didnt go well, and it is for the better, if she is going to be living with her parents, but its terrible timing. Now she has no income and i have no sitter.
And i dont think i can take any days off from work, this is my first week back full time :(

Honestly, that sounds like a really unhealthy situation to be in with your child. Maybe a mom on here can help you out until you find someone. Where are you located? Maybe someone on here knows someone looking for babysitting gig.

Im in Islip Terrace. If anyone knows someone that they trust and can recommend, i would greatly appreciate it.

i teach near there...and a lot of the teachers have their kids in the tutor time in oakdale....sorry i can't help, my dd is in a place in miller place!

I know of three good day cares that you can try:

1) Tutor Time on Oakdale

2) Kiddie Academy on Carleton Ave, East Islip/ Islip Terrace

3) Helping Hands Day care on South Bay in Islip
