Antibotics while preggo

Has anyone needed antibotics while pregnant? I'm 9 weeks and they think I may need some for a throat infection (waiting for culture results.) I'm sure my doctor wouldn't give me anything that would hurt the baby, but I thought we couldn't have any.

I did have something for a vaginal infection - a 10 day prescription. Your doc knows what you can and cannot take. I was sick a couple of months back, and he hesitated on giving me something for the cough - he really wanted me to wait it out....

I am sick again, and have my GD test on Tuesday... we'll see if he wants to put me on something then cuz this cough is really nasty....

I was diagnosed with strep throat at 6 weeks and later on with what they *thought* was a UTI. I was on antibiotics both times.

I didnt take anything, not even a Tylenol for the first 24 weeks...then unfortunatley I got back to back UTI's and had to be put on 2 antibiotics in a row...then I got an intestinal infection from the antibiotics and had to go on Flagyl for 14 days. The doctors assured me that they would not put me on something that would hurt the baby. I wish I didnt have to go on them, but the doctors were very adamant that it was OK.

At 12 weeks I got a double ear infection and strep throat and my Dr. gave me antibotics. He said it is better to fight an infection like that then to have it travel to the baby.
