I wanted to wait 12 weeks to tell everyone, but I had a bad appointment with my Hemotologist who freaked me out... so I had to talk to my mom for support. She kind of knew (mother's intuition I guess). My FIL also figured it out, but we officially announced it to the parent's and sibblings at 10 weeks. My job knew at around 9 weeks b/c I had to tell my boss about all the doctor appointments and I didn't want them to think I was doing something shady and using the doctor as an excuse. I had more doctor appointments than "normal" people. Just told cousins and friends now at 12 weeks. I think it completely depends on what you need. I knew at around 10 weeks after seeing 2 internal pictures that if the worst did happen I would need my mom, my sister and my best friend for comfort. I would have come out about it anyway... Now at more than 12 weeks I tell anyone that's in ear's range.

we didn't wait a single second to tell family and closest friends.

We told parents the day we found out b/c I had had a m/c they knew about and we thought it was silly to hide what they were waiting for.
I told friends and other family at 13-14wks and work at 16wks.
