When do you start searching for a pediatrician?

When do you start searching for a pediatrician?
I tried to do a search and was told that 'pediatrician' and 'doctor' are ignored words. 
I just want to be prepared, as best I can. When is everyone going to start the search? TIA!

I did a month or 2 before. I figured if I delivered early than I was all set plus you don't want to be too uncomfortable running around when you very very far along.
I got recommendations from friends, LIF, etc and started with those. It made it easier than flipping through the phone book.
