Re: buying clothes...

I haven't bought a thing!! I almost feel like a bad mommy, but whenever I go shopping, I get so frazzled because I have no idea what to buy or what size. It's overwhelming.

So I decided to wait until shower. But I may buy a couple things just to have on hand God forbid I go into labor before my shower.

Re: buying clothes...

I have bought a couple gender specific things and stapled the receipt to the tag so I can return whichever it isn't!

I actually had to exchange some things at Lord and Taylor and couldnn't help but pick up a gorgeous Absorba 3 piece white set Chat Icon

I bought a few outfits just to have some things, but I know people will be buying me stuff. I also don't know the gender, so I am holding off until we know whether it is Chat Icon or Chat Icon

Re: buying clothes...

I haven't really bought much... I bought a cute little short set in pink when I went to a Mets game last month, but otherwise I'm really not buying. My baby's godmother-to-be, on the other hand, has already bought her Baby Uggs (that won't even fit her until she's a year old!) and a bathing suit with a matching cover up for this coming summer. Chat Icon

I would have taken advantage of the Children's Place sale a few weeks ago, but DH gets very freaked out about baby clothes in the house before the baby so I didn't.

Re: buying clothes...

I didn't. And I hardly got any clothes at my shower. Afterwards bought a few things, but I am sick of yellow and green.

I am sure once the baby is born people will buy gender specific. It is hard not to buy stuff though.

I have bought several things, but am trying not to go too crazy. If I see something I really like or that is on sale, I will buy it.

Re: buying clothes...

I got a TON of clothes at my shower! I think when people know the sex they buy clothes, if they don't - I think they shy away from it a little more.

We won't have to buy this baby anything until she is at least 12m clothing!

Re: buying clothes...

I am waiting until after my shower. I have bought a few staples when I saw them on sale because I figure if I dont need them I can just return them or give them as gifts as I have a few pregnant friends.

I know if I buy, I will wind up with too much. I would rather wait until after the shower and see what size I have a lot of and what I need more of and buy from there. I figure I have plenty of time to go broke on this kid! Chat Icon

Re: buying clothes...

I went nuts buying stuff before DD was born. But take some advice from a BTDT...if you really need to buy stuff, maybe get some larger sizes. I had sooo many 0-3 months clothing that I bought PLUS from others at my shower/visitors/etc, DD didn't wear half of the stuff.

So happy shopping, but I suggest getting larger sizes too if possible Chat Icon

No, I actually haven't. I want to wait for my shower on the 3rd, and then I'll see what I still need.

And yes, I figured I would need larger sizes more than anything.

Re: buying clothes...

It def. helps control the shopping when you're not finding out the sex! DH & I went to buy baby something after the ultrascreen and came home with nothing. We got he/she a onesie from a vacation - but that's it so far.

Re: buying clothes...

Well I'm not buying anything till after he/she is born cause we aren't finding out and also I'm not sure how big my baby is going to be, so I don't want to buy to much of one size and it doesn't fit right.
