Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

I have a bug. I bought the car seat adaptors for it. So I only have the one stroller. I used the pram attachment so much in the beginning. He looked so comfy laying there.

Yea i agree that the basinett type ones look a lot more comfy for the baby as an infant...

No in the beginning you only really need 1 or 2. I do great with just a snap and go and my Zippy (inglesina).

Eventually I will probably get a light weight stroller like a maclaren to replace the snap n go. Maybe next year I will get a jogging stroller - but honestly that is totally optional.

If you get one of those travel systems you really only need one.

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

I only have one stroller, a Peg Perego Pliko. It can lie flat for an infant, and a car seat can be strapped in. As he gets older we may get a cheap umbrella stroller too.

My mom is telling me I need:
a snap n go
a pram
a heavy stroller for walking around the neighborhood
AND a portable stroller for the car (for when the baby is a toddler)
This seems nuts to me.

Yeah, that's nuts. SorryChat Icon

We have the Metrolite travel system and that is ALL we've needed.

I really think you have no need to worry about an umbrella stroller til waaaayyyyy later

So overwhelming Chat Icon . . . for now, my plan is to get one master stroller that does it all - can use the bassinett or car seat, then it converts to a stroller. Which one that is has yet to be determined. So far, I like:

Bugaboo (buts it doesn't fold so easily)
Quinny Buzz (but DH hates it)
Rockstar stroller

Yeah, my friend had the Quinny and she LOATHES it, HATES it with every fiber of her being, but it was SO expensive, she can't give it up. She likes my Metrolite betterChat Icon

And we never had anything that had a bassinett or a pram like stroller, if you have the money, great, but I think they are kind of silly, personallyChat Icon

I'm not getting how any type of stroller especially one with a bassinett can be "silly"....what is silly about it...just wondering....

Because you really don't need it. I mean, it's a nice feature, but it is SO easy to take a car seat and pop it into a travel system or a snug rider.

They are beautiful, but a little old fashioned. Especially if you are having a winter baby....b/c all you'd really use it for is walks around the block, right?

I mean, again, this is MY opinion. But since I've had DS, I have realized a lot of really nice things have been bypassed for things that are more practical.Chat Icon

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

I understand why u feel that way but being pregnant for the 1st time is exciting...and a lot of us buy things just because we want them, not because we need them...like when i planned my wedding, looking back now there were tons of things i spent money one that wrere very unnecessary...I also have a snap and go...the pram is just for fun...heheh

im sure we all have things that we dont need....but i see your point... :)

Has anyone thought about the Peg Perego Venezia? I love it, but (like many of us) I am so unsure about what to do! (Even though the pics don't show this, the handle reverses.. very easily, too!)

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

I have so many!

Snap N Go
BumbleRide Flyer
Maclaren Techno for my car
Maclaren Volo for mom's car (she watches him while DH and I are at work).

My mom used the SNG more than I. He naps in the BumbleRide every day and if we are going out and we'll be out all day, I bring that. Otherwise it's the Maclaren for me.

I love this stroller. It's relatively lightweight also for a full size stroller...I think around 17lbs or so. My GF had one for her DS and loved it.

I have 3 strollers. I have the Snap & Go, a full size and a light (metro). I'm looking to add two more to my collection...a side by side stroller and a tandem stroller so I will have 5!

Exactly what I had ... five in total.

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

My daughter is almost 6 months. We have one stroller and have used it all the time. We live in an apt and dont have a lot of space to spare.

We have the Graco Metrolite. We bought a grace snugride car seat that snaps into place in the stroller. We took her out right away (spring baby). Put her in the baby carrier - put carrier in stroller - head out the door for our walk.

Now the carseat stays in the car and Ainsley sits in the stroller on her own.

The metrolite folds up really easily (one handed!) and weighs like 10 pounds. When my daughter can walk I may get one of those umbrella stroller for like $10 that weigh 2 pounds - but for now the metrolite works great.

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

We have 3:
-Peg Perego Venezia
-Bugaboo Cameleon
-Maclaren Techno

-Bugaboo Cameleon: GREAT stroller! It's a pleasure to push! No other stroller compares (not any that I have tried anyway.) Drawback is it's size and the fact that it's 2 pieces...not exactly restaraunt or travel friendly.
We RARELY used the bassinet feature. DD never napped in it and overall was quite unhappy in the bassinet. We were finally able to get the infant car seat attachments and that made a world of difference for us (they were delayed in production.)

-PP Venezia: we only used it for DD's first 2 months in conjunction with the PP Primo Viaggio car seat. We NEVER ONCE used the carriage feature. We actually hated using this stroller, especially after using the Bugaboo. DH basically banished it to the basement.

-Maclaren Techo: VERY HANDY!!!! We get a lot of use out of this...mostly for travel or quick errands. If we know we're going to be using the stroller a lot or be on unpaved roads, then we use the Bugaboo.

I personally don't see the pram as very useful, nor would I enjoy pushing one of those around (not my style), but it's clearly personal preference and not an issue of need. I don't know about other neighborhoods, but in mine, moms don't use prams, nannies do. The moms use mostly use travel systems, Bugaboos or jogging strollers.

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

We have the snap and go, the infant stroller and the "big girl" stroller for when she is older. I think that's enough. I plan on using the snap and go more then the infant stroller.

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

No no no no....

A snap n go is convenient, but no one got it for us, we didnt have the money to spend, so I carried him in the car seat for quick in and out of the store trips, or I just took him out - sleeping or not, into a stroller, and back in the car seat, and we all lived to tell the tale... you would be totally fine without a snap n go...

You need a regular stroller for everyday, and a jogger if you want to get out and run, hike, etc- I'm thinking you will - thats it....

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

OK so I registered for 2-
The chico cortina-
External Image
It lays flat for infants, it's pretty lightweight, and folds and opens with one hand.
It's available in the travel system, but I didn't like how the car seat has to be strapped in, instead of a snapping feature, so I will get the snap and go with the Graco car seat I liked.

I thought I remembered it snapping in. I'll have to go to BRU and play tonight. Chat Icon
I registered for the same, but also the Chicco carseat. I am getting the snap and go (it's off my registry... shhhh).

Ooh- let me know if it does, we couldn't figure it out- we may just be special like that.
It definitely snapped into the car seta base, I think. But we couldn't figure out the car seat with the stroller or the snap and go.

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

Sorry to bump an old thread - but after reading this I'm thoroughly confused. If I get a travel system, do I need a snap & go as well? Does each car seat model have it's own snap n go available for purchase? Are these dumb questions? Chat Icon

Re: I need HOW many strollers?!

we have 1.
the bugaboo camelion

we bought the carseat adapters so it can be used w/ the carseat - just like the snap n go.

The stroller is only 20lbs.. as heavy/light as other full strollers.

We are probably going to register for the Cortina travel system as well and the car seat DOES snap in very easily - go check it out again and grab a sales person to help (as hard as they are to find) Its very easy once you figure it out!
