Medical Insurance for soon-to-be SAHM

I'm due in early Jan and working until the end of Nov.

Should I try to get myself added to DH's insurance policy (very small company..so PITA) or buy cobra? i know it's probably expensive for cobra but i just don't want any kind of interruption with the coverage for my appts or when the baby comes.

any suggestions or insights will be great.

COBRA could cost you as much as $1000 per month. Can you afford that?? IMHO, I would try and move to DH's insurance.

My office continues to provide coverage (at their expense) for 3 months. After that, I'm moving to DH's insurance, unless I come back to work that early.

That's what I thought. COBRA basically means you keep your inusrance but you have to pay the entire monthly premium yourself. Each company gets their own rates, so I have no idea how much your coverage is per month, but it could go that high.

I would add myself to DH's now...that way there is no interruption! Cobra is so expensive! Unless your OB doesn't take your Dh's health ins!
