Prenatal vitamins
Is it ok that I am taking the over the counter ones or should I call my doctor and get a prescription?

Of course it is okay. But you might want to get a prescription so you're insurance can cover it.

My OB told me that some of the otc prenatals don't always have averything that a pg woman needs. He gave me a prescription.

Re: Prenatal vitamins
My doctor said they're all the same. I'm taking OTC prenatals and a fish oil supplement per her instructions. The fish oil is what DHA is. Prescriptions usually have DHA, so the supplement makes it the same thing.

Re: Prenatal vitamins
I took CVS OTC from May - August. We conceived end of July and at my first OB appointment in August, my doctor prescribed Citracal with DHA, so I've been taking those ever since.
