spackaling...
i prob didnt spell that right  but how many coats did you? i thought u only had to do it once than sand it ...my DH says u have to do 2 *** its not paint  we dont have many holes to cover we took out the closet so theres a few holes but they are covered. also how long can i wait to sand it if we do end up spackaling again today? i want to paint already!!

What kind of holes? We used one coat on nail holes sanded and painted....looks fine
they are soo going to move this post to the home board

we only spackle once then sand and if it looks like it needs it again then spackle again and sand then paint.

That's what DH does. You need a light hand with spackle - it should be a light coat, sand then another light coat and light sand. You shouldn't glob it on and then sand it off.

depends on what you're spackling....
small nail holes can usually be done in 1 coat.
I did it last week.
DH does a few coats when covering a seam or something bigger.

DH does the skim coats too...2 of our walls were littered with picture holes so he spackled & skimmed. lol
