Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
Single, working in Selden, not exactly enjoying life now that I look back.
I am exactly where I hoped I be back then. It just took me longer than I thought

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I was in high school, I was 17. I didn't expect to be married, or have a house. I thought I would be a lawyer by now.

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I was 16 and a senior in high school. Trying to decide where to go to college...I lost my grandfather a few months later and my world really changed.
I guess I saw my life the way it is now, married with a child, just didn't know who I would be married to. I did always think I would be a lawyer, just not only working for them

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I was in the workplace I am in now. I was in a relationship with someone whose best friends were his parents and was not able to cut the cord. I was approximately 50 pounds heavier than I am now.

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I was beginning my junior year in college. I had just started dating the guy that I was with before I met DH. I was in a completely different place then, partying and not serious at all.
I think I'm in a pretty good place now. Married with a kid on the way, and totally ready for it. Financially we do well, although I'm not doing what I had planned back then. But back then I didn't know any better. I make more money doing what I do now then what I would be doing.
I'm happy with the way my life turned out.

Ah yes...I was definitely serial first dating back then.
I had just gotten out of a terrible college relationship and I went a little wild when I moved to Long Island.

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
10 years ago I was in my very first semester of undergrad college. I thought I had it all planned out. I was going to marry my drug-abusing, verbally assaulting boyfriend and make my living by solely perfoming on the flute. I didn't even give children a thought, and I was b-tchy beyond belief.
I NEVER in a million years would have predicted that I'd end up married to the most amazingly kind man I've ever met with a beautiful daughter, all by the age of 27. I also NEVER EVER wanted to be a teacher. I swore up, down, left and right that I would never teach music because that would be "selling out". 10 years and a neck and arm injury later, I am teaching and hardly performing these days. Content as can be with it all, too.

I had just finished college and was on a mini break from trying to find a job. A few months later, I met DH and what I thought I would be doing with my life would change.

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I just turned 20 and was getting over a booze-soaked summer at Mulcahys and the water bars. DH and I were completely platonic best friends, we hung out ALL the time. He made fun of the guidos and Abercrombie guys I dated...I had JUST transferred to Hofstra and it was Junior year.
I NEVER thought I would be married and kids . I thought I would marry at 30 (did that at 25) and kids at 33-ish (28)
everything else was geared for the weekends and bars.

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I was 19, living in Washington going to Georgetown and working in the White House. Clinton was in office. Life was good.
I had never lived on Long Island, and never imagined I would be living here. I thought I'd marry my college boyfriend who I had been dating for three years. I got married when I wanted to be married (26) and am finishing my doctorate by 30 which I always wanted...But I didn't think I'd be living here. But life is good.

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
OMG, I was 16 and in my sophmore year in high school!! I had my learners permit for my car and couldn't wait to turn 17 so I could drive
I think I am pretty close to where I wanted to be in life. I never really imagined I would be living where I grew up, but I never realized how much I like it here till I left!

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I was three years post divorce and turning 30. I was shopping for (and finally bought) a house by myself. I was also traveling a lot, going out and dating too many guys.
Today I am still in the same house but it's twice as big, married with one child. I am at the same job, but work part-time. I am basically where I thought I'd be, but I thought I'd get married younger and have two children.

Hmm...I was 20 and a junior at SJC in Brooklyn. Not dating anyone in particular and partying every weekend in Queens, Brooklyn and the UES. I did not think I would be married at 30 and for 4 yrs already!!

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
10 years ago, I had recently started dating Al, pretty much at the exact time he found out he'd be going to grad school in CA. So he left for CA and I moved into NYC. I was starting a new job (in the WTC).
I'm where I hoped I'd be, though its hard to believe I got here. Married to the man of my dreams (literally, I dreamed about him for years while we were friends before we got together), in a great house, back on LI after living in SF for 5 years, and I have an amazing daughter.
Sometimes I pinch myself to make sure I'm not still dreaming. Life is good.

Re: Where were you 10 years ago?
I was a sophomore in college - dating a great guy (we dated for all 4 years of college). This was the point in my life where I had figured out what I wanted out of my life and decided that nothing would stop me.
