I need some ideas...
My mom's 65th birthday is next month. We are taking her out to eat. She is old school Italian so she is going to refuse going out to eat when she can cook at home. But she will be forced to go against her will...
Anyways what can I get for this old school lady...
I'm trying to come up with ideas...

first i know about the italian thing... second as a gift i know my mom loved this and i am getting one for my step dad too, it's a picture blanket. you get them made at the same place you would get the t shirts or coffee mugs(i hope you know what i mean) you can get them in color or in black and white with ANYPICTURE you have. it was a great hit with everyone and I think it's a great girt.. hehe mom gets to sleep with the beatles everynight lol

Oh wow...I really like this idea. Do you think a place like sears portraits would be able to do this...

I had that done for my father's 60th and he loved it. We got it with all the grandkids. We went to one of those vendors in the middle of the mall (the ones that have the video camera on at all times) . It came out SO good. It was more like a fleece kind of material than the normal throw. ITA!!!

I am not sure..call them. the place i used has a email address you send them in the pic and can pay over the phone... i got it at smithhaven mall. if you want the info . it took a week to come in and it was just over $100.00 for it. my mom's was black and white and my step dad's when i get the money up for it will be in color

LOL! DH's grandma is the same way; she'll cook a huge dinner for us all on HER bday before she'll even think of going out!!!! I'm so bad that I'm no help and can't think of a gift...but it's always lovely to send a beautiful flower arrangement and some chocolates!

We want to take her out to an Italian restaurant but all she'll say is "why go out and eat what I can make"...

Yea...definately do not get it done at Sears. They wants over 200.00 for one and I didnt even love it (the sample on the wall).
I had one made for my mom years ago...I think we got it from personalcreations.com. It is beautiful! But it takes a while for them to do it so I am not sure if you have enough time to order from them.

Personal Creations
I got my Grandma the "grandma throw" and a pillow that had "memories" embroidered on the top, I had her and my grandfathers wedding picture scanned onto the front, and underneath the year they got married. I also took her to see "My father's jewish, my mother's italian and I'm in therapy." She LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
