it's been a while, & I am not a big buffet person, but I was not a huge fan of East.
I did like China Grand Buffet
There is a Japanese place in Carle Place on Glen Cove Road (in TJ Max Shopping Center) that is ok too.

Re: Anyone been to any of these Buffet places?

East on 110 in Huntington is AMAZING! Its on the pricey side and is always super crowded, but is totally worth it. They have quality food - not like at a typical chinese buffet. All the food is always fresh, and they trays are never empty. They also have stations where chefs prepare food constantly. And they have great desserts too!

ETA: I didn't read you post all the way through. If you are looking for inexpensive, East is not the place to go. When DH and I go there its almost $70 just for the two of us.

Is this the one next to Bennigan's? Actually attached to Bennigan's?
If so, I reccomend this one and East.

East is a little pricey, but, its very good.

I went to Old Country Buffet as a kid. My friend's family would go every Sunday after church...so I invited myself once. They expected me to come every Sunday from there on out. Chat Icon

Re: Anyone been to any of these Buffet places?

OCR is gross...sorry, but it's true.
East is really good and has an extensive selection but is more expensive.
China Grand (that's the one in the Dave & Busters, right?) used to be really good, but was not great the last few times I was there.
The one on Old Country Road in Hicksville was amazing when I went, but that was a couple of years ago. I work over there, so I'll get the name of it and $$ for you.

ETA: Not that cheesy - my friend had her daughters communion at the one in Smithtown.Chat Icon

The one on Deer Park Avenue also has a private room. I also thing their lunch buffet is around 10.99 per person.

lol ... I'm really trying to think hard of what the name is....

I think it's called China Buffet City, and if I'm right their ph# is 631-274-0888.

Call the number and ask if they are next to Bennigans. If they say yes we found the right Chinese Buffet!1

Re: Anyone been to any of these Buffet places?

I've been to Chinese buffets a few times, don't know the names specifically but I always had a good experience and I think it's a great idea for a small group.

Old Country Buffet, well I've gone more than a few times, I do like that a get a choice, and their desserts are usually good, but it's overpriced (I feel like I can never eat enough to get my $$$ worth), and I get skeeved out when I see people coughing or touching the food with their hands.

I think the only reason I keep going back to OCB is it reminds me of my college dining hall, the same milk dispensor, cups in the crates, the trays and the buffet-style service. I get flashbacks of great college memories- I think it's like McDonald's in that sense, I know logically the food isn't worth it, but I get this warm feeling/childhood memories when I'm there.
