Is it too soon for Milani to be holding her head up?

She'll be 3 weeks this Saturday and she has been lifting her head and holding it there for a few seconds. Call me crazy, but isn't it too soon for this?

NOpe, both my daughters held their heads up a couple seconds since their births.
Def helped with my oldest, she hated tummy time, so her strong neck muscles worked out!

DS holds his head up when we burp him and during tummy time. He is 3 weeks today. I think he started to hold his head up for a few seconds at about one week old. He can now do it for a longer period of time.

Sorry i worded that wrong before.

No i don't think u are crazy. I think she could hold her head.

DD started at 3 weeks holding hers. So she is getting the hang of it and starting out young.

Go her for trying to hold her bottle to.

My Noah was able to hold his head up on day 2...it was amazing. Even the midwives mentioned how amazing it was to me. Ever since then I realised the kid is an evil genius (insert evil laugh here)

DS held his head up from day 1. But you still have to be careful because obviously they don't have total control yet. You'll see she gets the "stevie wonder" once in a while. Chat Icon

Me too! The nurses told me he had very strong neck muscles.

That being said, it was just for a few seconds. He could not hold it for long.

Same with Lucas...which made it easier to sleep him on his tummy for us (even though it's not recommended). He has always had great neck support and never flopped on his face.

Wow..I'm surprised there are so many of you experiencing the same thing. It's amazing how fast they develop now-a-days.

I guess all those cheeseburgers, cold stone sundaes and cookies did her good! Chat Icon

At his 1 week well baby visit, the dr. put him on his belly, and he pushed himself up and looked around!!! Its amazing what these brand new babies can do!!!!
