Alternative/ Modern nursery furniture
I stumbled accross this: Thoughts? It's totally green.

Description: This cardboard cradle meets all the usual standards. It's flame retardant and meets the EU's safety and performance for cribs and cradles. However, unlike traditional cribs, you won't need any tools to assemble it and you can either store flat when done or recycle the cardboard. Keep this crib in mind for traveling as well. For infants up to three months old.
Color: As shown.
Size: 24.75"h x 30"l x 22"w. Part Number GLcradle Model Number 798 Regular Price Each $107.00 Sale Price $64.20 40% Off

Re: Alternative/ Modern nursery furniture
Sorry, but I wouldn't pay $65 for a cardboard cradle. That costs more than the pack and play I registered for and I bet after you set it up once and take it down, it won't be as sturdy as it should be the next time you use it.

Re: Alternative/ Modern nursery furniture
Not for nothing but I think my mother would slap me upside my head for putting a kid in what looks like a crate. I'm all for helping out the environment, but I'd sooner start with cloth diapers. JMO.

I have seen them in person, they have them in the shops here, they are plasticated and really cute. A good option if you don't have much space! I like them!

Re: Alternative/ Modern nursery furniture
I don't know why, but it just makes me giggle. I'm imagining a cardboard nursery complete with all cardboard furniture!
It doesn't look that comfortable, but kudos to the manufacturers for developing an eco-friendly cradle!

It's different! My concern would be sturdiness. I agree with a PNP for the price.

Re: Alternative/ Modern nursery furniture
Hmmm. It's made of cardboard, and will most likely end up getting thrown away after it's time is up. Thus making more trash in the landfill. Whereas with real furniture, well that doesn't usually get thrown away. It's used again or given away, sold, etc. How is that smart again?
