i am SO DISGUSTED (and sad)!
someone in my neighborhood has had people taking down a tree all morning...that's what i was woken up to!
when i sit on the couch in my computer room, there is one HUGE tree that i can see. it's beautiful and must be pretty old. i've always loved seeing it's leaves sway in the branches
i just looked out the window and realized that is the tree they're taking down!!! i'm so upset because it's beautiful! granted...it *could* be diseased/sick/dying, but somehow i doubt it. my poor tree
this place is becoming more and more urban as time goes on. pretty soon, there won't be any trees left. and what's funny is my town calls itself "tree city usa"

Could be diseased though...the tree in my backyard, a big beautiful tree, needs to be taken down because it's actually dead inside. Turns out it was infested w/ something. You never would have known though.

It always makes me so sad to see a tree cut down. This happened recently to a grand old oak in my neighborhood. It was beautiful and healthy, but its roots were damaging the gas main and affecting service.
It's so weird to see empty space where the tree used to stand.

yeah you really do never know, my IL's just had a tree fall w/the last big rain storm and luckily it fell away from the house...if it went the other way the house would have been totally wrecked
but i know how you feel...

I hate to see that too. There are NO trees on my block. I walk DD and we are sweating by the time we get to the corner because we don't encounter one iota of shade. It's so sad....

I know what you mean...I really appreciate the beauty of nature and try to take time to see it all..the way I see it we have to share our planet with the animals and the plants, etc. Some people don't see it that way

Re: i am SO DISGUSTED (and sad)!
I had 4 large trees removed recently. 3 were damaged and/or diseased, even though some of them weren't obvious unless you were really close. The 4th one was damaging the house. I wasn't happy about having to take them down, but if I didn't have them taken down, they would have fallen on their own. (One huge section of one tree fell in a storm, which is what finally prompted me to take them down.)
