Balloon Festival

Did anyone make it out there today?

We headed out about 5pm to get there in time to see the Balloons go up between 6-8.

It took about 30 mins to get into the parking area. $10 to park than you had to take a bus to the balloon grounds. Just as we were boarding the bus we overheard some ask a worker "is it true the balloons aren't going up". And he said "yeah". Than some people were coming back from the balloon grounds to the parking area complaining that there was an hour wait to get onto the grounds. And they felt they should have been told ahead of time, since we couldn't see the grounds from the parking area.

It was at this time people started to get angry. They started demanding their money back from parking. I was one of them. We had all intentions of going on a balloon ride, but were told "it's too windy" for the balloons to go up. At 1st they weren't going to give us a refund, but other people started telling the waiting cars, that the balloons weren't going up and they don't tell you that till AFTER you pay for parking. And people actually started to leave.
That's when the supervisior decided to refund our money.

I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to the balloon ride. It was my birthday gift from DH

If you made it out there, I hope you had better luck than we did. MAYBE we'll try again in the morning. Next time I'll ask questions BEFORE paying!

We didn't go, but, I am so sorry this happened to you!

I would've been Pizzed and telling everyone "Don't Pay" too!

WOW! you kinda changed my mind about wanting to go tommorow, especially with a 2 month old....And all the waiting around and expenses
