Do you make friends and trust easily?
I have friend who just randomly makes friends everywhere she goes. She gives people her cell # and meets up with people and hangs out after meeting them once for like 5 mins. I keep telling her to be careful who she gives her # out to and tells where she lives, especially after meeting them only once.
I'm not saying this a bad trait or anything cause its always nice to have friends, but I guess i'm a little more jaded than she is. I dont trust people until they give me a reason to.
How about you?

I have a few close friends and a lot of acquaintances (friends of friends). I would have to be around someone a lot before I would call them my "friend"

wow youre friend sounds way too trusting! and i know she probably means well, but i agree its not safe to just hang out with ppl you barely know and give out your #
maybe i'm too cynical for that--but i have to say i only trust 100% a handful of ppl in my life. (mostly family and like 2 friends). everyone else to me are just 'acquaintances" and buddies.

yup! ita! i dont trust easily AT ALL soooo i dont think i would ever do what ur friend does with the cell number and all...not my style

IDK, this seems a little more than "trusting" to me. It seems desperate.

I make friends easily, but I am really only interested in people who are sticking around. Not interesting in transients. When I moved to the UK it only took me about a month to start making friends, and most of them I am still friends with!

I don't trust easily at all. You have to earn my trust. I am friendly but don't go out of my way to make friends. I love my close group of friends.

i used to be way more trusting than i am now... and sometimes i miss that about myself. sometimes i'm cynical and jaded and guarded to the point that it's really hard for me to make friends. but at the same time, even in my trusting days - i was never like that. in this day in age, it just isn't safe.

This is me...besides, I am not that outgoing with strangers that I would come close to doing that.
I have a friend who is sort of like that...I swear she "collects" friends, but they are gone almost as quickly as they appear. She only has maybe three really long time friends.

every friend I have made in the past 15 yrs has been temporary. it lasts for a little while, then they're gone.
I have some friends that I made in school or right after. those friendships have stood the test of time.
and no, I do not trust people easily.

yes, i do. i try to see the good in people until they prove me wrong.
2 of my closest friends i met in untraditional ways
in fact, one of my best friends was met on here...i asked her to go walking and she came over to my house and we hit it off immediately. i don't know what i'd do without her friendship and if i was a "skeptical" person, i would never have met her!
