Advice for those registering
My advice is basically for BRU: They won't give you a percent off finishing your registry until 2 weeks after your due date. If I had known this, I would've put an early due date down.
You think you get everything at a shower, but there's always something you need. We didn't even have a place for the baby to sleep! So, I guess we should've put the baby in a drawer until we could get a discount on our crib.

Don't mean to crash your post Kelly, but Donna (dm24angel) did a post like this about 3 weeks ago Registry Advice
And I'll bump it too

You are too cute! I saw you replied.
Yeah, or you could just have mainiac family who schedule your shower for 37.5 weeks and you give birth at 39 weeks. I just got what I needed when DS was 1 week old.
I am NOT sticking up for BRU (don't get me started on the "we don't take it back if we don't have that exact pattern in the store ) but maybe they don't realize showers are getting earlier and earlier, KWIM?

Lets say you have 100 items on your registry. You get 60 at your shower. BRU will give you a coupon in the mail for a certain percentage off the 40 items remaining on your registry. But you don't get that coupon until 2 weeks after your due date. So if you need something off your registry to begin the baby's life, you need to pay full price.

I never got that coupon.
The only issue I see with putting your due date a month early is if people go to find your registry and everything is correct except the due date, isn't there a possibility that they will think it may not be you?

I thought about that too. But most people I knew didn't really know when I was due.
I'm not surprised you didn't get that coupon. This gets too confusing!!!

Re: Advice for those registering
I'm just sitting here wondering if they are going by the date you actually filled out on the paper or the date that you can change yourself on the website. Mine was originally 10/13 but changed to 10/9 (which I did myself on the site). You think they will be PIA and go by the date on the paper?

Re: Advice for those registering
I would not worry about changing hte date on the paper copy. once guests start to buy gifts, they will see the new edd. plus, its only a few day difference.

I received one of those coupons shortly after my due date. I thought they felt sorry for me since I only received one gift off my registry

No..I didn't have a shower though. One was being planned, but then there was some "drama" and it just didn't happen. It's fine though, I bought everything I needed myself
