Coney Island saying farwell -
For a short article click here -
So I'm a little bummed. I hate when monumental spots get ripped apart and replaced. Just like that good old children amusement park Nunley's. What is even there now? A strip mall or something?
To make a point to this thread name a place, thing, or whatever, that is now no more.

Did anyone here go to Nelly Bly amusement park in Brooklyn?
I'm sad about Astroland. We're going to CI this Saturday to say goodbye and see a Cyclones game.

I loved all those places. I had birthday parties at crossbay amusement park and bow wow. My best friend worked at the amusement park and I would go all the time to visit her and get on the rides for free 
Nelly Bly was my favorite. I went all the time when I was young

Jolly Rogers, corner of Hempstead Tpke and Hicksville Road, Bethpage. Had birthday parties there. Pequa Movie Theater, now a Lexus Dealer

DH used to go to Nelly Bly all the time when he was a kid livin in Brooklyn.

I've never even been to Coney Island. I wish I had.
There was a very little kiddie amusement park on Old Country Road, across from Jonathans (new hyde park? Garden city? not sure which town) . My aunt used to take me there all the time.

I've never even been to Coney Island. I wish I had.
You can still go, it is still intact through the end of the summer. 
I go all the time, to get my fill before it changes.
