I LOVED when he was channeling Ed O'Neil's deceased wife!
I wonder if What's-her-name's camera taped that weird episode... All of the people seemed to have a reacion when it was over- sort of like a de-ja-vu expression on their faces.
Oh how NASTY was that story about the mom and Butchy?!
Hopefully Rebecca DeMornay will calm down- she has been so irritating.

I think his father is God too now, after last night. It's like they're intentionally leading you to different conclusions.
I love that Zippy the parrot is calling conferences too. So funny.
And now, it seems, he can read people's minds. The Vietnam guy said it - something about, I don't care if you can read my thoughts.
It's great that all these people are so accepting of him, and the weird healings that have been happening.
Did you notice that he started talking about the circle and line, and then he drew the "male" sign with his foot in the dirt? He did that once before too.
I'm sure there has to be some website out there somewhere that has his whole speech analyzed, what each line could possibly mean.
And yes, eiw for what she did to Butchie. Although he did say she was tripping on acid. And we now know where at least part of her neuroses with Shawnie come from.

I think he was referring to God as well. I've heard that he is supposed to be a Jesus figure, or angel or something. I am really not smart enough for what he was going on about at the end, but I'm sure there are things on the net about it.

Disclaimer: I could be totally full of sh*t.  It just looked that way to me.
I wonder if he's there to evaluate mankind, to learn more about us and our compassion, to decide if we're worth saving or eradicating. With all that "The end is near." stuff. And maybe he's passing on the gift of healing to see what they do with it - if they choose to use it for good.
Maybe Zippy the bird is God. 
Did you catch the previews? He said Shawn would be gone soon.

That was a great episode! We finally got some insight as to what's going on, although I'm still confused... It's such a crazy show. And I think I completely hate Rebecca DeMornay's character. She's such a psychotic beyatch! No wonder Butchie is such a mess!!

we have not watched this episode yet, but its funny b/c me and dh will watch it and say, ok, we'll give it one more chance. so we've seen every episode. i'm jsut starting to get this family, but I don't quite see where its going.

I TOTALLY think the foot swirl and hand gesture were part of this symbol!
Theres a chat room on HBO that has some smart theories.
I have a theory that the bird is the hand of God in some way.

I started reading the 32 page thread on last night's episode at HBO's forums.
The theories are staggering. And the things I totally missed. It's one of those things that makes you want to watch it again.
I liken this to Heroes and trying to hypothesize about everything that happens, every unanswered question.

Tricia - I think that is great - Zippy as God!
Totally ew about Butchie and mom, but I am so glad it explains why she is so over the top where it is almost not believable. Now, she is more believable to me.
Did you see Zack Morris is in the next episode? Interesting...
