So much of this is true. I have a picture of me on my moms lap in the back of Dads car the day I came home from the hospital. No seat belts. No car seat.
Not every kid made the team when they tried.
We got disappointed but that was alright
I also think it is ok to lose or not get picked sometimes. Trust me, I was a horrible athlete and I was always picked last and lost a lot. That being said, I am fundamentally opposed to athletic leagues for kids where everyone wins and everyone gets a trophy. To me, it just isnt the way the real world works. Life lessons stink sometimes.

I've seen these lyrics before - I like them - but I've always felt like he stole them from that Growing Up in the 70's and 80's email that's been going around forever that says this exact thing!
