Ugh...Lucille Roberts
Has anyone else had problems with them?
I called back in April to cancel my membership. They cancelled it with no problems, hassles, etc. So, 2 months later, I'm looking at my credit card statement, and noticed that I got charged 2 more times from them. I called, and they apologized, and said it wouldnt happen again, and that they would reimburse me for the 2 months that I was charged when I shouldnt have been.
So, fast forward to today, I notice that I have been charged AGAIN!!! So I call them up, and now they are saying that they have no record of me calling before, and they have cancelled the membership, but unforunately, they cannot do anything about the previous months since they have no record me of calling!
I'm so mad!!! The girl on the phone wouldnt even transfer me to someone higher up than her. She said I can write a letter, but she doesnt know if that will do any good since there is no record of any previous calls!!!!
Has anyone had any problems like this with them? Any tips on what I can do? I'm definitely going to write a letter!

I had the SAME thing happen to me with LR about 10 years ago. Unfortunately, the only way that I was able to stop that from happening was by closing out the checking account that I used for automatic payment to LR.

I had the same problem. So I put them on a credit card I no longer wanted and before they could bill it again I canceled the credit card.

I would call back and talk to someone else....b/c i find that with many of those places different people tell you different things.
Then I would definitely write a letter as well.

Gyms are notorious for this. I'd take this as far as I had to - Better Business Bureau, consumer reporting agencies, State Attorney General's office and any other place I could think of. As a last resort, I'd call "Help Me Howard" from Channel 11. Let's see how fast they remember the calls you made with a camera in their face. At the very least, I'd write a letter to them telling them that, if my money was not refunded within 30 days, I would be contacting "Howard" and if that did not work, I'd see them in court. Get a copy of your phone record to prove you called them when you did. Good luck!

YUP! Same problem with me and my mom! I closed out my account

I'm definitely going to write a letter to them. I'm going to tell them that I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I just looked them on the BBB website, and they have soo many complaints, most of which are billing issues!
I wish I could get a copy of the phone record, but I've always called from work!

I had the same issues. It was finally cancelled, I ended up paying like 7 -8 months extra. they are a bunch of IDIOTS who steal your money!

Had something similar at my old gym. I called and spoke with someone - no record of it either. But I had sent a letter that they said was "misleading" (I meant cancel starting in December and they took it for HOLD starting in December and then reinstated it the next month).
I did BBB, State offices --- all for nothing. They wouldn't refund me the stupid money.

tell your credit card company NOT to accept the charges- and fax them a copy of the cancelation if you have to!
