As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
A woman was at the Fox Hollow for a holiday office party. When it ended she came out and the valet told her they couldn't find her keys. Along with her there were 4 other coworkers of hers who's keys were lost as well. She had to pay over $600.00 to get the locks replaced. She called Fox Hollow and spoke with the GM who said he would reimburse her. That was in January..and now 6 months later..she's the only one who hasn't been reimbursed. Everyone else was. Since then the GM has stopped returning her calls. 7 on your side went to them and he said it's not their responsibility, but then ended up paying her after the news went and fired the valet company.
So the question is....who do you think should be responsible for paying back the costs to this woman or anyone this may happen to? The hall, or the valet company?

The hall, you leave your car with them and assume it is going to be fine. I would haunt them until they paid.

The hall is not responsible - usually valets are an outside company.

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
Once I turn my keys over to the valet I feel they are responsible for the keys and my car.
My opinion is the Fox Hollow should pay.
ESPECIALLY since the other 3 people were reimbursed, how could they then decide not to reimburse one person?

The hall usually says that the valet company is held responsible for anything that happens.
Out of good faith, I would expect the hall to... I had a problem with a hall and valet and they did nothing to make the problem better and I'd never forget that!

Tough one...but Fox Hollow should pay because they hire the valet company.

Valet.
I went to a wedding in January at the fox hollow and the valet looked my keys in the car with my lights on and the car turned off
They paged me and asked me if I had AAA (and I do but you can only have so many calls a year PLUS it was there fault) I told them fix it by the time that wedding is over. Whats the deal with all the idiots over there.

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
A tire was stolen from my friend's brand new Infiniti at my wedding at the Hamlet. The Hamlet refused to pay, and he had to deal with the valet company. They also refused and he took them to court.
What is the deal with these thieves??
I think the Fox Hollow should pay. They hire the valet company and should stand by that.

The valet should have some kind of insurance, so I would probably say go through them first.
I however, would probably seek restitution from both.

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
If it's on The Fox Hollow's property and they contract the valet company, the Fox Hollow is responsible. It's their prerogative to pursue it with the valet company at that time. There is usually no sihn that says have our valet company park your car but we are not responsible for your car.

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
Normally I would say the valet company as they were in possession of the keys at the time.
Because the GM of the Fox Hollow assumed responsibility & verbally committed to covering the charges, it's his problem.

Interesting. The valets there allowed my car to roll back into a tree because they didn't set the parking brake correctly.
Strange that these stories are all coming out about one place. I can't imagine it's the same valets, all these years later.

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
it happens everywhere. My aunt and uncle were members of a country club a while ago and my uncle owned a very expense car ($200,000 car) and it was totalled by the valets after a joy ride.
The country club's insurance paid for the car.

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
The hall is responsible. They should be responsible for the valet co they hired and take it up with them. The woman shouldn't have to fight the valet company because FoxHollow outsourced it to a third party.

They have a new valet company now - thank goodness!!!!
There will be NO MESSING UP MY WEDDING
I think the hall should pay if the valet won't cough up the $....but only because the hall already promised it. If they hadn't said anything, it's all on the valet.

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
the valet company - but since the Fox Hollow hired them, they are responsible too. I bet they will go after the vallet company to get their money back.
and as a side note - this is one of the reasons why I HATE vallet parking. I can park my own car, thanks. the extra 20 steps won't kill me

Re: As per the news...dilemma at Fox Hollow
If I were allowed to park my own car, but *chose* to use valet parking, I would hold the valet company responsible. If the hall requires me to leave the car with the valet, then I think the hall should be responsible.

that's what I was thinking
and why were 6 sets of keys missing- I find that odd- and I would be worried
I would also need my house locks changed- who should pay for that?
(these people have your address (if you car is registered to your house- which mine isn't) and now your keys- that is scary
