Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

Did you have a wedding band made to fit flush with it?

Or, do you wear your band and e-ring separately?

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

I wouldn't call mine oddly shaped- but my e-ring and wedding band do not sit flush- and I wear them on the same finger

I have an asscher cut stone and the way it is set NOTHING would sit flush with it except for a very thin platinum band. So I never got the eternity band I wanted but I am hoping to get that for an anniversary present at some point down the line.....

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

i wore mine separate....but next time around, im going to find ones that i can wear together.

there were definitely times when i wanted to just wear them together and i couldnt. ive told everyone whos asked to get ones that you can wear both separately and together, and they all insisted that they just want to wear them on different hands...and i have seen ALL of those same people wearing their mismatched rings together now!

plan for both if you can. Chat Icon

I was trying to think of an oddly shaped diamond...Chat Icon

mine is emerald- so it isn't round- would I would say is the easier shape to match something with

ETA- I think round is easier- b/c round typically sit up higher- or at least all the rounds I tried on did

mine work together- but aren't made to fit together- I could wear them on 2 different hands- but I prefer them this way

Beth, I meant the setting itself. Chat Icon I'm doing worse and worse trying to describe what I'm talking about.

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

mine do not sit totally flush, but i'm wearing them on the same finger.

my e-ring kind of juts out a little bit, but I didn't want a curved band.

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

i have the lucida style and i had a hard time finding anything to fit flush, unless it was a lucidda band which i did not want.

however although they dont fit flush i wear them both together on the same hand

I have a "V" shaped wedding ring so that my princess cut E ring fits in it.

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

My e-ring has a trellis setting and I have two bands, one that is channel set and sits flush and one that has a 5 stone prong setting and that one does not sit flush but I wear it any way.

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

My e-ring has three oval stones (like the past present future thing). They are in a basket setting.

I looked forever to find something that would fit with it, then I tried to find something that would just look ok, and nothing does. So right now I wear my e-ring on my right hand and my wedding band on my left. For our five (or ten) year anniversary DH wants to have a custom band made with small diamonds all around that my e-ring will fit into, so I'll just have one ring. Can't find a good pic of what I'm talking about Chat Icon

ETA: pic of my current e-ring

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

My original wedding band was not meant to be worn on the same finger as my e- ring.

A year after i got married though, I got a second curved band-- custom made to sit flush with my e ring. Now I wear that on my left hand and my original band on my right hand.

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

I have a three stone e-ring. I had a hard time finding something to go with. So I had a band custome made. They don't sit perfectly flush but they look nice together.

I didn't have a band made to sit flush with my e-ring and I wear them together.

I have a low set 4-prong round solitare. I wanted to get something custom made at first until the jeweler told me I'd never be able to wear the rings separately without people noticing the huge dip. I ended up getting a band with a channel setting and although they don't sit flush, they look nice together (and apart if I want to do that).

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

I have a round stone in a square setting - there weren't any bands that would sit flush...but I do wear them together anyway. I don't mind the way it looks.

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

Yes I did- and it was the best decidion I made- I love it.

ETA: My ring was custom made where one side is straight across- no curve. The side where the ring sits into it has a slight cut into it where the diamond and setting sit right into- it looks like I am wearing one big ring.

Yes, I had one made to sit flush with it. I love it.

Here's a picture of my e-ring, my wedding ring sits along the bottom of it and curls with the curves. It has 3 row of diamond that match the rows in the ring.

Re: Q for those with oddly shaped E-rings

I have a low set oval diamond in an antique setting.....let's just say that everywhere I went they looked at me like I had 10 heads when I said I wanted a curved band to sit flush with it.

I ended up getting a separate diamond band to wear on my left and I wear my e-ring on my right.
I love my e-ring so much that in hindsight, I am gald I didn't take away from it with the curved band, which I see EVERYWHERE now......
