Leaving the T.V. or radio on for your pets . . .
Does anyone else do this?
I used to leave Animal Planet on for her when we were staying w/ my parents.
In the new house, we won't have a t.v. in the area she stays in during the day, so I leave the radio on for her.
DH does this  , but I think it's nice for her to have background noise.
Does anyone else do this?

I leave on Animal Planet for mine also! My mom leaves her radio on for her animals.

With Cablevision we have the music channels and Jasmine seems to prefer Light Classical  It is great cause it is like a night light for her too...For Chilly Cat we used to leave the IPOD on easy listening during the day.

I leave the radio on for Katie. Sometimes we watch Animal Planet or nature shows together. She likes that.
ETA: I think the background noise really helps her stay calm. Silence can be deafening.

on the weekends when I leave I put the TV in the bedroom on for them- usually what ever I was watching last

I always leave the TV on for Jersey. I can't leave anything w/ animals though, because she goes nuts. I leave something soothing like HG TV.

Yes we leave the TV on, either BBC - we are both English, so we think they like hearing the accent - or Animal Planet

Yes...I leave either Z100 or 98.3 on for my Casey girl!  My DH thinks I am nuts. But I do it for a few reasons....so she doesn't get bored and start chewing....and so she feels like someone is there with her.

yup... when jack is crated we do leave the radio on for him. dh left it on talk radio (dh is a fan of talk radio)

I never thought to do this, but it makes sense, and maybe it will stop them from causing a mess when they get bored. No animal planet though, if they see too many dogs or hear too much barking the will end up attacking the TV!

No, but...and this kills me...my grandfather admitted to calling the dogs and talking to them on the answering machine when there's a storm so they won't get nervous.
