LAndmark Education... Anyone ?
Has anyone taken any of their classes?
Theyre life-enrichment type programs.
Life-changing, powerful stuff.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of them or taken the courses.

Re: LAndmark Education... Anyone ?
A few friends of mine did it for a while. PLEASE be careful. They kept taking classes and getting roped into taking more. One couple got a divorce because the classes drove a big wedge into the relationship.
This is just my experience with friends of ours. I am sure this is not the norm, but it is all I know of Landmark.
ETA: The classes become more and more expensive and frequent. This was the main reason for the couple splitting up. One partner wanted to go to classes all the time the other was over it for a while.

Re: LAndmark Education... Anyone ?
Dina- I know several that have raved about them. Just wanted to hear other reviews. Im completely open to hearing good and bad. thanks for sharing that.
They are a bit pricey, that's what makes me stop and rethink things, ya know? and they do have the "well you took that course, then you MUST take this one next"
Jennie- they have courses all over the country.
http://www.landmarkeducation.com/
They have events where they have kinda demo nites, to show guests.
There's one in nassau county tomorrow nite.

Like I said, I know that what happened to our friends is not typical. I know someone else who loved the classes, BUT she was newly single (just divorced) and had the $$ to take the classes. Plus, she stopped going after six months. She got what she needed from it. However, she got some flack for leaving it.

Re: LAndmark Education... Anyone ?
Some friends roped me into going to the intro for free, a few years ago.
I found it suspect in how they would pressure you to join. They pressure you into paying for and attending courses and moving up in "levels." Too much pressure to pay lots of money and pyramid-like for me.
There is a control mentality about the sessions. You are not "allowed" to leave the room to go to the bathroom. There seemed to be a lot of people standing in the back and in the corridors wearing dark jackets.
When you ask them what they will teach, they give you the runaround, with no real answer. "You just have to attend and see for yourself." They gave no concrete informative material in the intro, just a parade of people who have attended their courses with testimonials about what Landmark did for them, such as moving out of fear to take action.
My friends also couldn't describe to me what goes on. It was strange.

I would have written the same thing. DH had gone to them around the time we met and had asked me to attend the bring your friends and/or family night. During this time, they separated us and brought us non Landmark people into a separate room to explain their organization. I found it VERY uncomfortable, and did not like their tactics at all. Some woman was trying to tell me that I only thought I was happy with my life and that I was only pretending. Following this visit, they constantly called me almost to the point of harrassment.
With that said, DH claims he had a very positive experience with them and although they are EXPENSIVE, it was worth it to him.
I would suggest doing some research on the internet about them.

Re: LAndmark Education... Anyone ?
My DH's boss ew is a seminar leader. DH completed all the major courses and he says if you have an open mind it's a blast. The goal of the program is the attempt to shake you out of living an ordinary life. My DH did not fall for the enroll your friend stuff. He says not to take it so seriously because if you do they will rip you a new one.
