Re: Drinking
During the school year, I maybe have a glass of wine 2 nights a week. Now that it's summer and I'm at my parents' house, I have a drink every night. I don't see anything wrong with that, however, I don't really ever drink more than one glass of wine.

Re: Drinking
I drink once a month if that. It's so bad for you. It' s just extra calories that aren't worth having.

I totally agree on the caloric intake thing-- this is what made me stop drinking like I used to back in my hey day...
I drink maybe once or twice a month-- although, it really depends what I am doing-- how much socializing I am doing, if we have a wedding or something... I never drink at home unless I had a crazy day-- then I am drinking and chain smoking! The other reason why drinking is not good for me.

Re: Drinking
I don't drink often at all anymore.
If I drink 1-2 times a month that is plenty.
I have kids. I like to be fully present when they are around. So I drink only on a night out.

I have a child and I don't think that my glass of wine, after she is asleep, makes me any less "present" for her. Just felt I needed to add that.

Re: Drinking
I have a drink whenever it is that I feel like it. I may have a few drinks in one week but then go months without one.
I say if you're in the mood for a drink, have it and enjoy!
Cheers!

Please don't think I was casting aspersions on parents who choose to drink. Because I can't speak for ANYONE but myself.
My girlfriend has a cocktail at least 2 times a week and she is a fabulous mother. My father drank wine with supper just about every night.. in fact I was introduced to wine with my own supper when I was 11 or 12.
But I am just not much of a drinker these days - so a glass or two makes me feel loopy. And I am not effective as a parent after a few drinks. Again - just me - not speaking for ANYONE else so I hope you don't feel like I am judging anyone. I mean - there are people who can be fine after a glass of wine or 6 of beer or a half a bottle of jagermeister and a shot of jack... just not ME.

Aww, no, I totally didn't think you were doing that, the insecure side of me had to add that So the even MORE insecure side of me will add this: I never drink more than one glass of wine if I'm home alone for fear that Ava will wake up and I'll need to drive her somewhere. A few months ago, I had vodka and fruit punch, or some stupid concoction for some odd reason, and I made my friend come over until JT got home from work because I was afraid Ava would wake up Funny, yet oddly sad

Hehe... we will get together - put the rugrats to sleep and get our drink on one night. I will make sure my hubby is around so he can drive us around if anything comes up. Or he can drive to the supermarket and get snacks. Whichever

I drink once a month if that. It's so bad for you. It' s just extra calories that aren't worth having. It depends on what you are drinking. Red wine actually has some pretty profound health benefits.

How much/often do you drink?
I'd say I drink 3-5 times a week 1-3 glasses. Usually Smirnoff Vanilla and Diet Coke but occasionally White Wine or Bud Lite.
My husband is a work right now and I'm thinking about having cocktail but I feel like I'm not supposed to.
that's about right..same here.

Re: Drinking
Before becoming pg, DH and I would drink on the weekends. Fri, Sat & Sun probably about 4-6 bottles of red wine per weekend.
ETA 4-6 bottles is for both of us, not just me We love our red wine.

Re: Drinking
I NEVER drink anymore, I think I am allergic because everytime I drink I FAINT- pass out cold right on the floor. So embarrasing. Last time was at a work function about a year ago- I had a half a glass of wine
I keep meaning to try again at home but am chicken.
It is wierd, because I used to drink a ton. I wonder what happened?
