yes!!!!! All the time!!! I have at least one glass every day...usually at least 2 or 3. My mom would only allow us to drink milk with dinner, and I still do. I love it.

DH doesn't understand how I can drink milk with dinner, but there are very few things that milk DOESN'T go with. Chinese and pizza, for example Chat Icon

PSA: Skim milk actually isn't great for you. It's full of sugar. 1% isn't that much more fat, but contains about 1/2 of the simple sugar. Chat Icon

wow, I don't know how you can drink milk with dinner, but glad you will have strong bones!

Skim milk vs other milk: No added sugar in either product unless you go with a flavored kind. Skim milk has more lactose (unless you get lactaid)..because they take out the butter fat they replace it with more milk which means there's more lactose. Lactose is naturally occuring in all regular cows milk.

Re: Do you drink milk?

nope. I only have it in cereal or tea. Never just a glass by itself. I always have two gallons of it onhand because of my kids, but other than that, I don't drink it.

Is this a serious reply?

I wasn't sure. B/C that is certainly not true. There is a pasteurization process involved, and what certain websites call pus is actually white blood cells...

At any rate, you'd be amazed at how much of something is in everything. I mean vegetables, milk, meat etc...all produce is subject to some "grossness" lol.

But your reply did make me gag, and it'll prob be a few days before i drink it...even though i don't believe it to be true "pus" Chat Icon

it is a serious reply and milk most certainly DOES have pus in it.

Have some … pus with your cookies? If you down a glass of cow’s milk, you will. It may be white, but researchers say that every cupful contains somatic cells, i.e., pus.

The dairy industry knows that there is a problem with pus in milk. Accordingly, it has developed a system known as the “somatic cell count” to measure the amount of pus in milk. The somatic cell count is the standard used to gauge milk quality. The higher the somatic cell count, the more pus in the milk.

Any milk with a somatic cell count of higher than 200 million per liter should not enter the human food supply, according to the dairy industry. Therefore, anyone living in a state where the somatic cell count is higher than 200 million shouldn’t be drinking milk. There’s only one problem—every state but Hawaii is producing milk with pus levels so high that it shouldn’t enter the human food supply! At the bottom of this page, you can see how high the pus levels in your state’s milk are. Even the national average, at 322 million, is well above the industry’s limit.

One culprit causing the hundreds of millions of pus cells in every liter of milk may be “bovine growth hormone,” the Monsanto chemical company’s growth hormone marketed as Posilac. Posilac is now widely used by dairy farmers to increase the amount of milk that their already overburdened cows produce. Because cows are not built to produce this much milk, they are prone to a painful udder infection called mastitis. When they are milked, pus and bacteria from the infection flow right along with the milk. The journal Nature reported that Posilac increases somatic cells—pus—in the milk by a whopping 19 percent! Researchers estimate that an ordinary glass of milk contains between one and seven drops of pus. This isn’t just disgusting—it can also be dangerous. Pus can contain paratuberculosis bacteria, which are believed to cause Crohn’s disease in human beings.

Dairy farmers try to control the rampant mastitis with large doses of antibiotics—but these antibiotics also wind up in the milk. Children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of too many antibiotics, which researchers believe can inhibit the development of the immune system.

Dairy farmers don’t tell consumers that every glass of milk is contaminated with pus, bacteria, and perhaps with paratuberculosis. The only way to avoid drinking pus is to avoid cow’s milk.

Re: Do you drink milk?

I'm lactose intolerant.

I use organic cow's milk for coffee, but drink almond or rice milk when I want an actual glass of milk.

Re: Do you drink milk?

I understand your research. and I am sure there are trace amounts of cells, pus, whatever you want to call it in milk.

But i think first off, its kind of gross to go making a statement like that on a simple "do you drink milk" website...it was uncalled for, in my opinion. I don't need to be thinking of that when i drink milk but that is anotehr story..

My cousin runs a dairy farm along with his dad, they have healthy cared for cows and i can assure you he would not agree with all the research you can find. There are other articles and research disputing some of the amounts listed, thats all...

I understand your point, but I was taken aback. There is so much info out there you know? Not all is correct...

Re: Do you drink milk?

There's no denying that there's bovine growth horomone in cow's milk.

Why is it suprising that someone would bring it up in a thread entitled 'do you drink milk?' Similar things come up when people ask 'do you eat red meat?' I'm sure.

Re: Do you drink milk?

I used to live off it growing up, and not that I'm an adult I never seem to drink it. Though I still like the taste. But whenever I'm at my parents' I seem to resort back to my childhood and drink milk with every meal. Haha.

Re: Do you drink milk?

Never. I hate it. My mother used to make me drink room-temperature milk when I was young. YUCK!!!Chat Icon Ever since then, I couldn't stand it. The only time I will have any milk is when it is in cereal and it the milk has to be right out of the refrigerator.
