Honestly?
I think SOME people look for drama and sympathy and make stuff up for attention.
Then they forget they said what they did, post something "real" and get caught off guard when someone remembers the other posts.
ooooh good theory!!!!!!!

Re: Loaded Question....
I don't think I've ever posted about work, although I really wanted to a lot of times. Besides the fact that my previous boss knew my online screen name, I worked for a company that was mentioned here quite a bit. I just don't think it's wise to post negative things about your employer - that's playing with fire. I've seen it sour some people's jobs, it's not pretty.
I try not to post about specific problems with my family either. I don't like editing out posts after the fact, it doesn't fool anyone anyway. You can always tell the situation from the replies, especially if they're quoted.
I'd rather share the ultra-personal topics with my FM chickies anyway. It's just better that way, all around.

What I love even better is when people say they're posting under another name because of family and friends who lurk. Then they give explicit details of their problems/issues. Ummm....won't family/friends recognize the situation and realize it's you???

Same here!
Like that blog, Dooce. She posted a lot of really bad things about her job, then a coworker found it and linked her to the author and she ended up getting fired.
I have a rule of thumb IRL and on here. Don't say anything about someone you wouldn't say to their face. So, I TRY not to vent about family members unless I plan on approaching them on the issue.

Re: Loaded Question....
Well...at least I'm not alone. I won't understand it and I won't do the "Pollyanna" answers. At this point I pretty much refuse to respond to a thread where someone who has complained about no $$$ is taking a trip or buying a flatscreen or someone who was complaining about their DH is now talking about having a baby. To each his own...but don't be upset if you get called out.

Re: Loaded Question....
Honestly, I appreciate it when people remind me of certain things - like my issues with my family. I know I have posted many a sob boo hoo post on here about problems with my family, and then someone once nicely pointed something out about a pattern I fall into - I really got a lot out of it and it actually changed me a lot...
I know when I was going thru some major financial issues recently, I did share on here because I was so depressed and fearful, I knew I could vent on here and just have shoulders to lean on. It also helps me look out for other people in my position, and seek out ways I can help them the way the ladies on here have helped me. But no - there are no Manolos for me, or $$$ vacays!

I have noticed one poster who does this, quite often I might add. I never called her out on it though, but I do laugh about it each time she posts something contradictory
There are a few obvious ones

Yes, but if it was that easy. The last 2 weeks a lot of threads are like this. You ask, you then get mad at the response after openly pouring your guts out.
