Loaded Question....
Okay, I'm probably going to start a whole Drama thread here....
Why is it that people post ALL of their personal history on here and then get upset when they are called out on it?
I have seen this numerous times, especially recently. People post about marital problems, financial problems, etc. and then when they say they are doing something that totally goes against their previous posts they get pizzed off.
I just don't get it...wouldn't you expect the repurcussions?

I've killed many a thread by calling people out on their sillyness.
Its funny after they get 2 pages of polyanna replies & they keep responding back, one person speaks the truth & the thread is dead.

I just get nervous when I see in law threads and tons of personal threads where people are pouring their guts out. This website is public; you aren't owed privacy by anyone. Sure, I'd never go blab something someone told me that was personal, but some people get off on other people's misery and love to start trouble. If you post tons of personal stuff and it gets out, you kinda had it coming.
Edit: this isn't exactly what you meant; sorry....I don't really have an answer for you, but as for personal stuff, it really bothers me b/c I worry someone in his/her life will read it!

 and I applaud you for that! I can't stand how someone will post how they cant afford a house, new car, etc, but then the next post they are taking a world trip and buying Manolos  duh.

Well, I doubt anyone posts "ALL" of their personal history on here. The little details they leave out could actually be not so little. It's enough that anyone can say that regardless of HOW much you post, no on here really "knows" you just by your posts - personal or not.
Just playing devil's advocate because I understand what you mean.

Honestly?
I think SOME people look for drama and sympathy and make stuff up for attention.
Then they forget they said what they did, post something "real" and get caught off guard when someone remembers the other posts.

i.e.
If someone posts something ugly on the fashion board....I'll tell them its ugly
If someone says something in one post then changes their mind 2 posts later...I'll ask them why they are so wishy washy.

-Specific names of family members
-Anything negative about my family or DH's family that could ever bite me in the butt or cause serious embarrassment in the future.
-Anything that happens in my bedroom (besides the gas ) or any marital issues I may or may not have.
-How much money I make
I speak in the most general terms as I can with respect to myself, my husband and our families. I do not enter these boards with overwhelming trust.There are few people I have encountered on my own and developed relationships with that I choose to share and let my guard down.
I do have TTC issues, which I am rather open about, but they are not to seek attention or sympathy, rather to see if I am not alone and to possibly help others.
