ok, I admit it, I am the 1st person to say that I CANNOT STAND them!!!!!!! every year there are 2 in our complex and then they have between 3-5 babies. they crap everywhere and I have even seen them pecking at peoples parked cars! Chat Icon

but I can't help but be sad... there were 2 of them and they had 4 babies. they walked around everywhere together and now there is only 1 adult and 2 babies. I guess the others got ran over Chat Icon

I dont like them either.

They are actually hunted in Canada...there is a season for them. I guess they eat them up there!!

Re: Canadian Geese

I have this weird thing that I want to pick one up. I would never go near one but when ever I see one I just want to squeeze it!

I wonder if the Canadian geese are proud to be American's or NY'ers. Chat Icon Chat Icon

The geese themselves don't bother me. Their poop all over the playground does Chat Icon

Re: Canadian Geese

I call them gooses...

and their poop is goose poop.

I like em just fine as long as they don't poop in my yard!

I have a lake at the end of my complex and they have been walking around for 2 weeks looking like grey cotton balls with heads. But if you catch them when you want to leave out that side it SUCK S, I have had to wait like 15-20 for all of them to finally cross (and make up their minds) the roads.

My cousin had guard Geese on her property! They scared the crap out of me sometimes! They were better than her huge dog at alerting her to anyone that came up to her propertyChat Icon
They weren't Canadian Geese, but they were huge and would run after youChat Icon

Re: Canadian Geese

while they are messy, I do feed the babies every year. This year there is one with a broken wing, so I have taken an extra special liking to him and make sure he gets most of the food I feed.

We always have them where I live too! We've had a pair(that I think mate for life) with 3 babies and finally the 3 babies lost all their 'fuzz' and it's hard to tell them apart frm the adults. They're so protective of their little gosslings too. The poop all over the lawns is pretty gross though.Chat Icon
